Cartoon Network has teamed up with VIZ Media to launch a new streaming channel. On July 17 Toonami Jetstream will be launched to offer 24-hour streaming video. This will be a free ad-supported channel. The channel is named after Cartoon Network's Toonami action-adventure programming block when some of its most popular shows air.
Just like Toonami, Toonami Jetstream will be a mix of Cartoon Networks original programming and anime from Japan. VIZ Media's main business is the publishing and licensing of Japanese anime. This is the main reason for VIZ Media's involvement and the most interesting aspect of the new channel.
"Cartoon Network has long been the dominant TV provider of the best anime and action," said Paul Condolora, senior vice president and general manager of Cartoon Network New Media. "And we were the first to stream, in 2001, full-length anime series online. Now, with this joint venture with VIZ Media, we will give our fans the chance to view popular shows on-demand and follow new series that cannot be seen anywhere else. We also believe this will bring new fans to the action/anime genre, create interest in new shows and build the overall popularity of Toonami on Cartoon Network."

Five shows are scheduled for the July launch - Naruto, Samurai Jack, Hikaru No Go, MAR, and The Prince of Tennis. Only Genndy Tartakovsky's Samurai Jack is a Cartoon Network original. The other four are all Japanese imports, of which Hikaru No Go, MAR, and The Prince of Tennis will be shown in the US exclusively on Toonami Jetstream. Naruto has been broadcast on Cartoon Network since 2005.

I'm glad to see Toonami streaming content again (I can't remember what they called it a few years back when they streamed shows like Record Of Lodoss War and Patlabor).
One minor quibble...Hikaru No Go isn't exclusive to ToonamiJetStream. It starts airing this week on the cable network ImaginAsianTV.

it was...(refers to ANN archive) Toonami Reactor. I didnt get to see it though, i got into toonami just about 4 months before the big switch to saturdays. I still "strongly dislike" that maguzi they shoved in there, which doesnt even run their saving feature Code Lyoko. Also Samurai Jack used to air two or three weeks ago late night friday-early morning saturday. Guess not. I wonder if they will end jacks journey this time and if they did, its CN fault.
Shows they sould add (currently non-airing):
Rave Master, Ruroni Kenshin, Code Lyoko (Season 3), Yu Yu hakushow. thoes are all I can think of right now srry for spelling. Also a good comedic show would be Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi

Yes they are going to add Megaman on jetstream. To luis I doubt it will be uncut because they're keeping it about as clean as they would on toonami on TV. To derick they won't put Samurai Champloo for two reasons one being my answer to luis and the second is that Samurai Champloo is a part of adult swim not toonami if anything it would be on the Fix.

This isn't realy about toonami jetstream, but when are they going to start showing naruto from monday to thursday on cartoon network? That was the only show I would watch on that channel. Now I don't watch it at all. If they got it back Iwould watch it all the time....That's a promise

toonami jetstream may be pretty usefull. But basically on jetstream. they put anime and cartoons on their to watch. but after a month or so there deleted. there so random, adding some many old pokemon programs i wish they put some stuff like new anime that has never been on toonami.(like megeman) and you know little bit on the m-rated side, not a pg watching fan. Also would it be painful to add series not randoms eps
