I thought you were being sarcastic at first, but some of the courses, like Pro Tools, could be of real help for some people. I think the 12-week lyric writing course is a bit of stretch, though.

I'm of two minds about online courses and degrees: on the one hand, are you getting the same quality of education you would at the actual institution? On the other hand, it sort of levels the playing field. Bright people who don't have the money, undergrad or high school transcripts, or blind luck to marticulate in a great program at a revered school now have some opportunity to play with the big boys.

What I really need is an online MFA in Creative Writing from some place like UC Irvine or Stanford.

This is also great for folk like who may already chaulked up the big bucks for a degree in something totally unrelated, but who now realize they've barked up the wrong tree for quite some time and now have the handcuffs of school related bills and a 9-5'r and don't have the immediate timefunds to start compeletly over. Not that I am talking about myself.. or anything..

But seriously, something like this will allow me to follow my heart while allowing my head to stay in stable adult bill paying land till I break through.
