The removal of Jeeves isn't exactly new news. The decision to axe Jeeves was made in September 2005.
But it is now known that February 2006 will be Jeeves’ final month as his search engine's knowledgeable valet. After ten years of loyal commitment and providing a friendly face on the information superhighway, Jeeves is being sacked and the site will be known only as Ask.
But why sack the face that's graced the Ask search engine since its 1996 debut? Apparently, not long after IAC/InterActive bought Ask for $1.85bn in March 2005, IAC boss Barry Diller made known his aversion towards the brainiac of a butler. And we all know if the boss doesn’t like you, you’re out the door.
Sorry Jeeves, I guess trimming down before the purchase by IAC wasn’t good enough to save your job.

I think you have to be somewhat of a moron to rely on asking questions to surf the net. Also, I think you should have a killer search engine and that's why Google kicks all their asses.
I wonder if you ask how long Jeeves has left if he will come back with an answer...*Smirk*
So long you worthless Butler...

Very good headline.

Ask.com was never a very good search engine. I doubt that it will suddenly become better now that they've sacked their subservient mascot...
