For my friend, "goodstory".
A Current Affair's Bigfoot expedition team, led by Dr.Franklin Ruehl, held a press conference yesterday, Friday, May 14,05, to report the team's findings in Norway House, Manitoba. The expedition was based on Bobby Clarke's April 16,05 Bigfoot sighting, and videotape.
The team's evidence included hair samples, bones, tracks, height comparison photographs of a human standing in the same location as the videotaped figure, feeding ground evidence, and other physical evidence. (A feces sample was also earlier reported.)
Mathew Moneymaker of the BFRO was invited to take part in the press conference, and offered a portion of the hair sample for analysis, but he apparently chose not to participate. Hair samples will be sent to a respected laboratory for DNA analysis.
The news conference will be aired on Monday's A Current Affair episode.

Like most people I was disappointed in the quality of the footage taken by Clarke, but also very understanding of the coverage the story has received as presented by A Current Affair. I'm appreciative of the position that Hudson must have been in given the subject matter, the circumstances of which, were adequately addressed by "goodstory" in his various (and very humorous) postings. Notwitstanding, I'm more than a little disapointed in the BFRO for quickly removing all references to the alleged sighting, etc., presumably due to disagreements, sour grapes, etc., with those associated with A Current Affair. I would have expected that, at a minimum, Moneymaker and the BFRO would have at least documented the incident in their online database. If they removed most of the references to the 16 April Manitoba sighting in an effort to distance themselves from the tongue-and-cheek coverage, this is somewhat understandable but bordering on childish. Removing references to the apparent sighting, regardless of the coverage it received, has many questioning the credibility of the BFRO and the proclamations it has made as being a scientific organization. Can someone explain why Moneymaker and the BFRO has seemingly taken this position? What gives? All the "updates" prior to the airing of the footage, and now nothing? I'm still hoping my uncle's life wasn't spent in vain...
...The BFRO offered me hope, but I'm beginning to question it's integrity.

I can`t say I understand the BFRO`s decision on this either. Obviously Moneymaker wasn`t happy being excluded from the "team", but personal feelings should have nothing to do with this. If he thinks his organization is better equipped to analyze possible evidence, they should have jumped at the chance. This doesn`t say much for their professionalism.
I have to wonder WHY Mr.Moneymaker wasn`t included in the expedition, since he WAS asked to participate in the initial broadcast!?
Dahinden, who was your uncle, if you don`t mind my asking?
