Here are my picks for the NFL’s Week 12:
*THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20*
Cincinnati 1-8-1 at Pittsburgh 7-3 – 8:15 PM (Line: Steelers by 10.5)
This should be a low-scoring game.
RJ’s Pick: Pittsburgh by 5
*SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23*
Tampa Bay 7-3 at Detroit 0-10 – 1:00 PM (Line: Buccaneers by 8.5)
The Lions haven’t won a game since December 23rd of last year.
RJ’s Pick: Tampa Bay by 14
New York Jets 7-3 at Tennessee 10-0 – 1:00 PM (Line: Titans by 5)
The AFC’s top-scoring offense (289 points scored for the Jets) versus the NFL’s stingiest defense (131 points allowed by the Titans).
RJ’s Pick: Tennessee by 9
Buffalo 5-5 at Kansas City 1-9 – 1:00 PM (Line: Bills by 3)
The Chiefs have dropped six straight, worst in the AFC. And Buffalo has lost four straight. One of those streaks shall end here.
RJ’s Pick: Buffalo by 7
Chicago 5-5 at Saint Louis 2-8 – 1:00 PM (Line: Bears by 8.5)
The Rams have given up a league-worst 317 points through ten games, for an average of 31.7 points per game. (Do the math!)
RJ’s Pick: Chicago by 2
New England 6-4 at Miami 6-4 – 1:00 PM (Line: Dolphins by 2)
The Dolphins have won four straight. I don’t think Ronnie Brown will rush for four touchdowns in this one.
RJ’s Pick: New England by 4
Minnesota 5-5 at Jacksonville 4-6 – 1:00 PM (Line: Jaguars by 2.5)
Jack Del Rio is going through his change of life. (By that I mean he’s been moody, not that he’s experiencing vaginal dryness or loss of breast fullness.)
RJ’s Pick: Jacksonville by 7
Philadelphia 5-4-1 at Baltimore 6-4 – 1:00 PM (Line: Ravens by 1.5)
These are two above-average teams that will both probably be watching the playoffs at home.
RJ’s Pick: Philadelphia by 3
RJ’s Lame-Game Of The Week: Houston 3-7 at Cleveland 4-6 – 1:00 PM (Line: Browns by 3)
Cleveland is 1-4 at home. The Texans are 0-5 on the road.
RJ’s Pick: Cleveland by 6
San Francisco 3-7 at Dallas 6-4 – 1:00 PM (Line: Cowboys by 10)
This one should be a slaughter.
RJ’s Pick: Dallas by 24
Oakland 2-8 at Denver 6-4 – 4:05 PM (Line: Broncos by 9.5)
The Broncos are starting to pull away a little in the AFC
RJ’s Pick: Denver by 13
Washington 6-4 at Seattle 2-8 – 4:15 PM (Line: Redskins by 3.5)
The Redskins are 3-1 on the road this season.
RJ’s Pick: Washington by 8
RJ’s Game Of The Week: New York Giants 9-1 at Arizona 7-3 – 4:15 PM (Line: Giants by 3)
The Cardinals are undefeated at home. Kurt Warner is having his best season since at least 2001, maybe ever. The Super Bowl champion Giants have the best record in the NFC, the second-best defense in the NFL (in terms of total yards allowed per game), and the highest scoring offense in the league. This is a must-see game right here.
RJ’s Pick: Arizona by 3
Carolina 8-2 at Atlanta 6-4 – 4:15 PM (Line: Falcons by 1)
This is another excellent matchup. Atlanta’s postseason hopes would brighten considerably with a victory here. The Panthers need a win to ensure that they remain alone atop the NFC South.
RJ’s Pick: Atlanta by 5
Indianapolis 6-4 at San Diego 4-6 – 8:15 PM (Line: Chargers by 2.5)
Both teams need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Chargers have been incredibly unlucky this year. Their six losses have been by 1, 1, 2, 5, 7, and 9 points. (That explains why they have a losing record but a +25 point differential.) The Colts have won three straight after starting the season 3-4, but only one of their victories has been by more than six points.
RJ’s Pick: San Diego by 6
*MONDAY, NOVEMBER 24*
Green Bay 5-5 at New Orleans 5-5 – 8:30 PM (Line: Saints by 2.5)
The Packers are in a three-way tie for first place in the NFC North. The Saints, who have the same record, are alone in last place in the NFC South. (What a difference a division makes.) The Saints have the top offense in the league in terms of total yards gained per game. I expect a high-scoring affair.
RJ’s Pick: Green Bay by 4
