RJ’s 2010 NFL Picks – Week One

Welcome back, football fans. This is now the fifth year in which I have committed myself to picking every single NFL regular season game. I took last season off – I was on injured reserve with carpal tunnel syndrome. (No, not really. I was just feeling lazy for … a year or so.)

As a reminder, I pick the winners straight-up, without taking the spread into account (although I do offer my best guess as to what the margin of victory will be). My goal, as always, is to beat ESPN’s NFL “experts” at their own game.

Writing these columns is much more fun when my readers get involved, so please consider offering your own predictions in the comments section below. At the end of each week, I’ll total up everyone’s win-loss record (including the out-of-shape, middle-aged guys from ESPN), and post the results in the comments for comparison.

Now it’s time for my picks for the NFL’s week one games:

Well, my 10-6 result is not a great start for the season. Still, of the 8 ESPN “Expert Picks”, it was better than 5, tied with 2 and beat by 1.

Looking forward to your Week #2 picks, RJ, hopefully with a few comments!
