Millions of MJ fans all over the world remembered their hero on his third death anniversary. Programs were arranged all over the globe to pay tribute to the King of Pop.
Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009 at the age of 50 due to overdose of anesthetic Propofol. His personal physician, Conrad Murray was convicted in November 2011 of involuntary manslaughter and has been sentenced to four years in prison.
About 11,000 roses were sent to his resting place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. The red roses were bought from donations collected worldwide by Michael Jackson’s fans. The donations were gathered with help of social networking websites. A total of 30,000 U.S. dollars were collected from the program. After the program is over, the roses would not be thrown; instead, the flowers will be send to homes of local old age people.
Micro-blogging site Twitter was flooded on Monday with R.I.P Micheal Jackson tweets. Many celebrity artists, along with Jackson’s family members tweeted their messages on Twitter.
Jackson’s 14-year old daughter Paris tweeted “RIP Michael Jackson … Dad you will forever be in my heart <3 i love you.” Later she uploaded a picture of her dad kissing his ex-wife Debbie Rowe on cheeks. She captioned the photo, “Mommy and daddy!”
Jackson’s sister LaToya tweeted, “SadMorning All This Day was the day that lead to the demise of my little brother. ‘Michael We Love’ May you R.I.P. Gone FAR To Soon.”
Canadian singer Justin Bieber tweeted, R.I.P. to the best that ever did it. R.I.P. to the KING … R.I.P. Michael Jackson. You will never be forgotten. #INSPIRATION.”
Three years ago when the news of Jackson’s death spread worldwide, resulted in crashing of several websites including Twitter, Wikipedia, Los Angeles Times etc. World’s no 1 search engine Google had to block searches related to Michael Jackson for 30 minutes due to millions of inputs coming worldwide.
