If that wasn't enough, we will wrap up September with a blazin' monster music mix set, dedicated to reggae music!  I may have to go wide-screen for that one, and plug up the webcam for the chat room guest, as I will be giving a bunch of new CDs away, only to my live listeners!  The show will feature new music from VP Records, Torch Promotions, and much more fire, so stay tuned for that and more at The Cyber Mix Tape!

You Can Win Jesse!

Today we have two great prizes for your bookshelves and coffee tables, thanks to photographer Michael Grecco and music consultant Bobby Borg! Grecco's book Naked Ambition: A R-Rated Look At An X-Rated Industry is the ultimate peek into the steamy world of adult entertainment.  I say peek because the portrait book is for the grown and sexy, but it is far from porn.  Photographer Michael Grecco is one of the most sought after photographers in the industry, with a resume of work that includes the covers of several major magazines and a host of celebrity subjects including Martin Scorsese, Robert Duvall, Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Penelope Cruz, and Steven Spielberg just to name a few. His new book features beautiful portraits of some of the most well known adult actors and starlets, with beautiful results.  The tone is playful, natural, and ultimately revealing.

Bobby Borg's newly revised The Musician's Handbook is another must have for musicians, songwriters, bands, and anyone interested in the music business.  Bobby is a veteran in the music industry, with a wide range of professional work.  He began as a musician, eventually playing in rock groups Warrant and Beggars And Thieves.  His book is a must have manual for all those looking to enter the business, with detailed chapters on all aspects of the notorious industry.  Borg is an instructor at The Musician's Institute and UCLA Extension, in Los Angeles.  This book is a complete manual that many should read!

Both Borg and Grecco sat in the interview chair on The Cyber Mix Tape Show, and we had a great time talking to them.  They are offering free copies of their books to the readers, so click here to enter the contest!  We will pick two lucky readers on September 27th!  (Several random runner up promotional prizes will be given! Contestants need to enter only once! Multiple entries will disqualify you!)

And now… to Really Really Good…

Word On The Street

Almost overnight, Governor Sarah Palin has become the center of national attention, with her entry on the Republican ticket. The controversy and rumors surrounding her continue to build, and the public starts to weigh in. Her recent interview with Charlie Gibson was a ratings winner, as Charlie raised some interesting questions that Palin fielded.  Of course, we now have even more questions for the potential V.P. Here is a short list of Palin related links that drew my attention this week that you might have missed.

The Right and Wrong Questions for Palin

It is condescending and sexist to focus on Palin’s family. Either she’s ready to be president or she’s not. That’s what we need to know.

Alaskans Speak (In A Frightened Whisper): Palin Is “Racist, Sexist, Vindictive, And Mean”
Charley James

I don't think this story has been verified, and I'm sure that it will be addressed at some point, but it is a very interesting read. Stay tuned for more on this one and leave comments if you hear anything else on it!

“So Sambo beat the bitch!”
This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described Barack Obama’s win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party presidential nomination.

According to Lucille, the waitress serving her table at the time and who asked that her last name not be used, Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat’s primary battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively."

Thoughts On Sarah Palin
Mark Edward Manning

Sarah Palin and I both share a respect for history and tradition, time-tested methods of law and order, and a deep distrust of the government.

But I seriously wish that she, and some of these same people with whom I share common ground, didn't think that having less than 20 children is ungodly, that animals were put on earth solely to provide mankind with food and to relieve his feelings of bloodlust, and that the planet is only thousands, as opposed to billions, of years old.

I mean, not to get religious, but God help us all.

has a page dedicated to incoming news on Gov. Sarah Palin. Among some of the many links are "Palin's rookie year as mayor was turbulent", and "Palin's the No. 1 draw for women"

Shades of Reagan

Palin Evokes Style of GOP Hero
By Anne Taylor Fleming
Washington Independent.com

"In her appeal to nostalgia, there was little mention of the country’s current problems. No mortgage mess, no talk of subprime loans or the need for financial regulations or health care. None of those currently vexing problems. No, no need to bring all that stuff up. It would be off script, messy. She was after a feeling. That’s what Reagan was such a genius at — the “B” script ham actor played like a charm in the political arena."

Go cop that new Brooklyn Zu joint, Chamber 9, Verse 32 by the way  I don't know what to say to you if you call yourself a Hip-Hop head and you sleep on this CD! That new GZA album is fire, as is the new Killah Priest, and of course the new RZA album is bananas too.

Heres a short list of Hip-Hop videos from the old school to the new! Straight up classic Hip-Hop for that azz mixed with my favorite current jump offs!

GZA – "Paper Plate"
Amazing track with GZA going hard in the paint.  Get that album, check out the MySpace, and prepare for the chemical rush!

The Uptown Crew – "Uptown Is Kickin' It"
For Queens. Wow, this is some old school ish for real! This is basically the cornerstone of one the most important rap labels, Uptown Records. Andre Harrell looks mad young in this flashback, as does Heavy D! Fun song from the original crew, pre-Diddy days!

Brooklyn Zu ft. Chi King – "God Bless Da Child"
Check this video for one of the tracks off the new Brooklyn Zu CD, featuring Chi-King. Classic Hip-Hop type of ish!

Schooly D – "I Don't Like Rock & Roll"
Schooly D was one of the illest emcees out back in the day. He was like a harder version of Slick Rick, with his stories of the streets. Funny as ever, this track is in the Hip-Hop hall of fame! (Yo whats up man, this ain't Prince!)

M.I.A. – "Paper Planes"
This is the original video version of the hit from Ms. M.I.A., gunshots included! The video is the botched up Letterman appearance.

Murs & 9th Wonder – "Murray's Revenge"
One of the reasons why many heads are eagerly waiting for the Mur's albumm this video is a classic, hands down. The new album is due September 30th, and Murs is hitting the road on his first headlining tour. Stay tuned for more info!

MC Shan feat Marley Marl – "He Cuts So Fresh"
The two who gave you "The Bridge" has tons of hot hits, including this one. It's simply Shan giving props to his DJ, but it one of the hottest and slept one tracks!

Sir Mix A Lot – "My Posses On Broadway"
Long before he made it bit with "Baby Got Back", Mix A Lot had the hood hoppin' to this monster hit! Still sounds good!

They actually have a official video version of this, but the teaser is so bugged out, I had to share it with you. I joke, I joke, I kid, I kid…new Heltah Skeltah album is on the way!
