Today's topic of conversation
Free Masons and the Race Issue
I never really understood the whole Free Mason thing. It always sounded like a mysterious, illuminati watching, cult. As I grew older I began to think it might just be an excuse for men to get out of the house, chores, shopping trips, and all that, while they escape to their secret meetings. I haven’t thought of them in a while, until I came across the latest news on them and their current inner debates.
Seems some of the Mason are racists, a point that I thought was made crystal clear to everyone who watched “Rosewood”. Fast forward to 2006 and the debate of the legitimacy of Black Mason arises again. Take a look and judge for yourself. Check the links for more info on the Free Masons
Lodge of Freedom No. 77 in Gravesend was named on 16 April 1789, while events across the Channel in France were heating up. The banner used by the lodge featured (in 1940 at least and doubtless still today) a black slave freed from his chains of bondage with his arms lifted to heaven in supplication.
The "Blacks", were not allowed into Masonry, but later the "Prince Hall" for blacks was created, with 250,000 members. But even now U.S. Lodges reject the legitimacy of Black Masonic Lodges (Encyclopedia Britannica).
Mount Vernon, October 24, 1798.
”It was not my intention to doubt that, the Doctrines of the Illuminati, and principles of Jacobinism had not spread in the United States. On the contrary, no one is more truly satisfied of this fact than I am.”
Death Of A President
The controversial movie, Death Of A President hits the streets Oct 27th. The film is a fictitious depiction of life after President Bush is assassinated. Winner of The International Film Critics Award at The Toronto Film Festival, the movie is sure to be the target of protest and non favorable comments as well.
Many have spoken out against it, without even viewing it, such as Senator Hillary Clinton. She was quoted as saying, " I think it's absolutely outrageous. That anyone would even attempt to profit on such a horrible scenario makes me sick." Some say it is a new low in Bush Bashing, bordering on treasonous. I'm still trying to see it myself, I missed a screening yesterday… but I digress.
Be on the lookout for the movie, although it probably will be at the independent theaters, not the AMCs. Visit the movie's official website here.

Magic Bus This — A year ago this is what I was blogging about. My first experience with the Metro system here in LA. I'm still not a fan of the bus systems in general, but thankfully, I am not riding them as much as I used to. The Orange Line still scares me but that's another topic all together. Check out my ranting from the past.
