Maticulous, a young hip hop band with a different sound, has their debut CD on sale now. You can get it by going to their new website www.maticulous.com This CD includes 14 tracks + a bonus track including “Australian Vacation” and “Swinger’s Club”.

I have listened to their promo songs and what they are doing works. I am not a big fan of Hip Hop or Rap, but the blend of different genres and the mix of instruments and vocals is very appealing to the liberal ear. Listen to their cuts, you may find you like it… click here

Maticulous is a unique blend of todays Urban music, allowing them to capture a well rounded and versatile audience. While hammering out soulful yet catchy harmonies, they still hold it down with tight and articulate rhyme schemes. Not to mention Mat Keller and Matt Wagner both play a wide range of instruments and have a collection of acoustic and rock songs as well. To say the least when they perform together….its absolute magic!

Maticulous is derived from a background of old punk tunes, mainstream hits, as well as the good ol’ underground Hip Hop. Of course a good ear has allowed these boys to add an edge to their music as they can improvise harmonies on the spot. This is a step in a new direction for Hip Hop. Maticulous plans on changing the trend of Hip Hop by pushing the Industry out of the old Thug n Gangsta rut.

Keller states, “People need to understand that guns, money, cars, and Hos are a false reality that the gangsters created. It is a fad that exploits woman and creates a lot of hatred (ie:shootings) amongst the masses. People need to be themselves and start looking for a new trend, one of love and just being happy to be a living human on this planet.”

Wagner adds, “We are in this simply for the love of creating music, and particularily pushing in new directions that send a way more positive message to the people. The more we talk about guns and hos in our music….the more people are going to start shooting up strip clubs, you know. No artist wants to be a role model, when in fact that is exactly what entertainers are.”

Well now that you know a little bit about these two Armstrong, B.C. raised musicians, come take a walk through the sounds of Maticulous….”

Maticulous was introduced on this blog earlier this year. The article can be found at Maticulous Makes Garageband Charts .

    Dear baby jebus

I am not a professional music reviewer (obvious) but if you followed the “New Trend In Music” link you would have found my views (review?) as quoted below. I have listened to their songs and they have a different sound, which at the age of 50, even I can appreciate.

Now, if you want to diss my efforts at exposing the world to this fledgling talent, so be it. If you take the time to listen to their music and you don’t like it, fair game. If you are a superior being, perhaps you can write an article on how to do a proper music review so we don’t run afoul of your standards again.

    Regards,

OJ, we need the actual review here, as opposed to in link form. That would be much appreciated. YOu could just add it in to the post.

Ok Chris, I have restructured the article. Being a rookie to BlogCritics I didn’t understand the rules. My apologies to all.
