Commonly referred to as a pregnancy week by week calendar, pregnancy week by week generally refers to the gestation period of a pregnancy or pregnancy calendar.

The term gestation is derived from the Latin meaning “a carrying.” Generally, women experience an average of 40 weeks being pregnant. Each week is filled with new information of the fetal developments and changes happening to the mother’s body. The pregnancy week by week calendar is broken down into three sections for each trimester.

The first trimester describes weeks 1-12, the second trimester describes weeks 13-28, and the third trimester describes weeks 29-40+. Many women go through similar yet different changes from week to week, and these type of calendars are essential for understanding more in-depth.
