Zarqawi Has Been Eliminated

The man in this picture is Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the leader of the terrorist insurgency in Iraq that has claimed the lives of thousands of innocent civilians. Under normal circumstances death is not to be celebrated, but in Zarqawi's case, it must be: his death will preserve thousands more lives. Today is a good day!

In the last moments of his life, Zarqawi was collaborating with other insurgents terrorist leaders. Zarqawi died in much the same way that he lived: worshipping death.

According to the Washington Post, "Coalition forces pinpointed Zarqawi's location after weeks of tracking the movements of his spiritual adviser, Sheik Abdul Rahman, who also was killed in the blast."

The US Military has cause for celebration, as they have once again proven their superiority. US warplanes dropped two 500-pound bombs on the house in which Zarqawi was plotting further attacks. On the side of those bombs was a righteous stamp: "Made in the USA."

Speaking bluntly and proudly at a news conference, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's announcement was met with cheers:

"[Zarqawi] has been eliminated"...

"What happened ... is the result of collaboration from people who facilitated the operation conducted by Iraqi police and multinational forces," Maliki told reporters to applause and cheers.

"This is a message to those who choose the path of violence to change their direction before it is too late. I thank our forces, our police and the multinational forces for what they are doing in pursuing the terrorists."

"Anyone who looks to emulate Zarqawi, we will find him and kill, this is an open war between unified Iraqi people and sectarianism," Maliki added.

Upon learning of Zarqawi's death, President Bush issued a statement:

"[Al]-Zarqawi's death will give Iraq a chance to turn the tide in the fight against the nation's insurgency. The ideology of terror has lost one of its most visible and aggressive leaders," Bush said. "Zarqawi's death is a severe blow to al-Qaeda."

I like the name of this post. Hopefully someday before Nov 2006 there will be a post called "Hillary has been eliminated."

Dear Archie. There remains some difference between an American Senator whose primary hatred by the fanatic right and fundamentalist Americans stems from her support of health care for more Americans, protecting children and putting up with a husband with bad taste, versus a murderous, Moslem terrorist.

Your comment and the philosophy of Zarqawi are far more simililar than Senator Clinton's and the face of mid-Eastern evil.

Calling for the "eliminations" of a US enator, as Archhas done, goes beyond the pale. Authorities should be alerted.

Sometimes, when the anger explodes, I make typos. That notwithstanding, Arch's omment calling for the "elimination" of Hilary Clinton is unconsciable, and may be even construed as a terrorist threat.

Could he possibly have meant eliminated from the contenders for the 2008 presidential election...not to give Arch too much slack, of course.

The threat was implicit. I'm only going by the rules his blather laid down. An implicit threat is enough.

I'm all for anything that keeps Hillary out of the oval office.

May Al-Zarqawi roast in hell for all eternity.

Now, let's get Al-Zawahiri and OBL.

My thanks to our men and women in uniform for a job well done!

"May Al-Zarqawi roast in hell for all eternity."

    Well said, Clavos.

Let me add that I am not for eliminating anyone, even Hillary. Unless, of course, Archie was speaking in the political sense of the word. In that case I'm all for it.

I don't really view Hillary as a human being.... just a threat to my nation.

Conservatives are very funny in what they perceive as threats.

Osama in Afghanistan? Iraq is the threat!

Over 50% of marriages end in divorce and in some places the majority of children born are out of wedlock. Gays are the threat!

A book of fables does not correlate with actual history. Science is the threat!

All our GOOD-PAYING jobs are being outsourced overseas. Mexican illegal immigrants are the threat!

Zarqawi has been killed and AC here can think of nothing else except having as a leader, someone who isn't running and who has no chance of winning, (unless she runs against Jeb).

I'm so glad I'm not a conservative. As a liberal, I have a hard enough time fending off real demons, nevermind the imaginary ones. :-)

Gee Steve.....it's not like Clinton signed NAFTA or anything and jobs were not going overseas when he was in office right? And of course the borders were tight as a drum when he was in office.

    Statement from the Al-Q boys:

``We want to give you the joyous news of the martyrdom of the Mujahed Sheik Abu Musab al-Zarqawi," said the statement, signed by ``Abu Abdel-Rahman al-Iraqi," identified as the deputy ``emir" or leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq. ``The death of our leaders is life for us. It will only increase our persistence in continuing holy war so that the word of God will be supreme," it said. It compared the death of al-Zarqawi to the death of Islam's prophet Muhammad in the 7th Century, after which Muslim armies continued their expansion. ``What has occurred to the Islamic nation is like what happened after the death of the Prophet, peace be upon him, as the nation continued fighting and conquering. The nation continued to give birth to more men," it said. ``We tell our sheik and emir, Osama bin Laden, God protect him, that your soldiers of al-Qaida in Iraq are carrying on in the same plan set by sheik Abu Musab," it said. ``We will continue the path of our sheik and our emir, Abu Musab. Between us and them (the Americans) there will be a fierce battle, and those infidels will see their punishment."

An even better statement from Scott Adams:

This is a classic yet rare win-win-win-win scenario. The new Iraqi government is happy because he’s dead. The Americans are happy because he’s dead. Even his friends and coworkers are happy. Al-Qaida issued a statement saying, “We want to give you the joyous news of the martyrdom of the mujahed sheik Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. The death of our leaders is life for us. It will only increase our persistence in continuing holy war so that the word of God will be supreme.”

And best of all, according to his religion, he’s in paradise deflowering virgins as we speak. I believe get gets 72 of them, and by my calculation he’s already worked his way through 7 or 8, depending on how much paperwork there is in the afterlife before you can get busy.

I’m also happy for the pilot or drone operator that dropped the bomb on him. That guy has a story to tell. “You know that al-Zarqawi terrorist guy? I killed him on Scott Adams’ birthday.”

Aaman...that was a misprint in the book..it's Virginians...not virgins...and those Virginians are really really pissed!

The point is that this world would be better off without either one of them Steve.
