I don't want to appear to be opposing absolute freedom of speech, but there comes a point when, as a personal favor to sane people everywhere and to reduce the level of national embarrassment, I just have to ask the rat-brained social deviants who think there's a great conspiracy to conceal President Obama's real place of birth to please shut the hell up. I realize that they have no personal dignity or common sense, but out of respect for the rest of us who oppose President Obama for legitimate and rational reasons, couldn't they just crawl into a closet somewhere and close the door behind them so we can't hear them mumbling to themselves in the darkness?
Lou Dobbs is an idiot. I do enjoy saying that. Lou Dobbs is an idiot. I used to have to explain why I was convinced the giant-headed nativist nutjob had a brain the size of a blighted walnut, but now all I have to do is point out that he lets his birther flag fly relentlessly on his show, featuring the issue again and again, despite pressure from CNN higher-ups who have apparently told Dobbs to drop the subject on the theory the birth certificate was destroyed as part of the routine process of going to electronic instead of paper records in 1991, a good explanation which may not be entirely born out by the facts. This being demonstrated by subsequent statements to the contrary from Dr. Chiyome Fukino the Director of the Hawaii State Department of Health that the original document still exists, reiterating prior statements from Fukino and Republican Governor of Hawaii, Linda Lingle.
Dobbs is not alone in his nuttiness. Even more dismaying than seeing him on a major news network is that the people of Minnesota managed to elect a Birther to represent them in Congress. In an apparent attempt to balance out the blithering left-wing idiocy of Al Franken they have sent Michele Bachman to the House on some sort of demented crusade to expose conspiracies and promote an agenda which combines the worst of the ideas of Alex Jones, Donald Wildmon and the John Birch Society. To her credit, Bachman can make a rousing speech and she sounds just great until you actually think about the things she's saying and realize she's phoning the speech in from the twilight zone. Her latest accomplishment was a desperate effort to derail a bill recognizing the 50th anniversary of Hawaii's statehood because it acknowledged the state as the birthplace of President Obama, which she apparently thought was a plot to legitimize his birth by congressional fiat.

It is a shame what passes for journalism in this Country today. This is really not a birther issue, it is a Constitutional issue and a question for the Democratic Party as to why Obama was not vetted before his name was placed on the primary ballot.
Obama, an attorney, has declared in public that he was born in a specific hospital in Hawaii. That information is not contained on the COLB Obama produced. The name of the hospital is only on the original birth certificate OR in the vault birth records the State of Hawaii has announced they are holding.
Obama could sign a release and produce the vault records. He refuses to do so. Obama could have the hospital that he has claimed he was born in release their records to confirm the birth. Obama has again refused to do so.
So the COLB on its face does not prove Obama was born in Hawaii. Why? Because in 1961 the immigration laws in Hawaii were lax and there was massive fraud by parents who came in and claimed their child was born in the backyard, and on their word would be issued a birth certificate.
So, does the vault birth records say Obama was born in a hospital as he claims, or do they say he was born at some unspecified spot where there were no witnesses. If the vault records say he was not born in a hospital as Obama claims it will require further proof.
That is it. Obama produce the vault records the State of Hawaii has announced they are holding and then we can all confirm your statement that you were born in a hospital in Hawaii. Until that is done there is no proof that Obama was born in Hawaii.

Here’s Obama’s dilemma in a nutshell (READ VERY CAREFULLY AND DIGEST):
If BHO shows his original long form birth certificate, indeed showing he was born in Hawaii, it will also show his father was American citizen, Frank Marshall Davis, not the Kenyan/British citizen, Barack Obama Sr. While that would allow Barack Jr. to be POTUS eligible as BOTH a “citizen”/“native born citizen” AND an Article 2 “natural born citizen” " that is, born to two American citizens on American soil " it would simultaneously show he is a fraud hiding his real father " an unacceptable political debacle.
If, on the other hand, BHO keeps hiding his original long form birth certificate " while simply repeating, without showing, he was born in Hawaii " he can still CLAIM BOTH he was born in Hawaii AND his father was the Kenyan/British Barack Obama Sr. This would enable Barack Jr. to claim he’s a “citizen”/“native born citizen” but it would mean (if a federal court would ever get around to declaring and thus far no one has standing to bring the suit) that he’s NOT an Article 2 “natural born citizen” and thus not eligible to be POTUS " a legal/constitutional debacle since all acts under an illegal POTUS are void.
So it seems, BHO has elected option one until forced to go option two because for now it looks like no federal court will ever find a plaintiff with standing. (Of course, there’s the additional issue of BHO losing American citizen status if/when he became an Indonesian citizen " that is, IF he returned and was naturalized he would be a legal citizen, but would lose both native and natural born status, and, IF he returned and was not naturalized, he would be an illegal immigrant unlawfully in this country " but we’ll leave that for another day.)

Jack, are you serious? You should devote that energy to following a sports team, or trying to read infinite jest.
There's no conspiracy about his birth. He's an American who happens to be born in Hawaii and is now president. The idea that HIS PARENTS would fake his Naturalized Birth in America so that one day he could be president in 40 years and fool all of us?
I don't get the angle. McCain was born in Panama I bet he's not American either.

Dave - Two obvious questions. How does a society get so screwed up, and can such a society survive?
The first answer is easy (easy to explain, tough to accomplish). You need to destroy trust. You need a constant barrage of Nixons, Clintons, and Rathers. You need to put people under absurd restraints: make it socially unacceptable to point out that it's been a cold summer. You need organ-stealing rabbis and crooked TV preachers.
Can you turn that kind of society around? That I don't know.

So it appears Dave is in on the conspiracy ;)
One point though, Bachman became a House member in 2006 so it had nothing to do with Franken
6 - Matthew T. Sussman
Requesting someone to shut the hell up isn't censorship. Ask away!
7 - Dave Nalle
EB, ok then Franken is balancing out Bachman. Regardless, now that they are both in office I'm fine with opening a large hole, dropping them in together and bulldozing it closed over them.
I didn't even mention the funnies part. Apparantly Phil Berg is considering running for office, apparently because Bachman needs company.

For Jack's alternative conspiracy theory to make sense, Obama's real father would have to be a serial killer or something, since his officially acknowledged father is a pretty unsavory character. Having someone else as his father would probably be an improvement.

Nalle, if indeed there is something he could release regarding his birth like the 'long form' certificate why doesn't he just do it? Is it because it's an actual benefit to bring out kooks as a distraction or something? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on his reasoning.
10 - Pablo
I don't know anymore than Nalle does where Obama was born. That being said I do find it rather strange that Obama has so far spent in excess of $600,000 to not release the original long form of his birth certificate. As we all know money talks, and if he was willing to spend over half a million bucks fighting court cases that asked him to produce a simple document, I suspect that he is lying.
I also get a personal kick out of seeing the current press secretary to Obama having to comment on this. I also find it rather funny that political mainstream pundits one after another state with certainty that that the blank birth certificate shown is proof in and of itself, particularly when any informed person about this issue knows that it was indeed possible at that time to simply make a claim as a parent that the child was born in Hawaii and have the certificate issued.
Why hasn't the hospital where he supposedly was born chimed in? Why do certain school records in Indonesia claim that he was and Indonesian citizen and a moslem when he attended school there?
I do maintain however that Obama is as phony as a three dollar bill. A flip flopper is a nice word for his dishonesty. From wiretaps without warrant, to ending the war, to suggesting that it is lawful to hold someone indefinitely without due process, the list indeed is endless on the sheer hypocrisy of this man.
I knew he was a fake, when he was asked during his candidacy about the CFR and whether he was a member or not. He said that he did not know if he was a member (an obvious lie) and then smirked and said that there was no secret handshake.
Being the coinspircist that I am, it would not surprise me if this whole birther issue was contrived by the powers that be from the onset.
I smell a rat.
I have NEVER seen one MSM story on the birther issue mention the six hundred grand spent fighting it, nor that it was indeed possible at the time of Obama's birth for a parent simply to make a claim in Hawaii that their child was born here. If anyone is to blame for this non-issue, it is indeed the MSM, and folks such as Nalle. For that I thank Davey, as it provides me with a modicum of entertainment value. Particularly since he decided to devote his time to writing an article on it!
Thanks again Nalle for making my day pal.

Nalle, Dobbs didn't make up the idea that the BC was destroyed. His boss, a pro-Obama shill did, and Dobbs in a fleeting moment of embarrassment mused on whether that "cleared that up". Sadly, it turned out his boss, the pro-Obama shill, was misinformed, and now you are blaming Dobbs for his boss' error.

One point though, Bachman became a House member in 2006 so it had nothing to do with Franken
Well, along with Jesse Ventura, they do have the dubious distinction of being three of the strangest political candidates ever elected.
And from a mostly conservative Midwestern state, no less.

Pablo,
You do realize, of course, that you and Davey, as you affectionally call him, are at cross-purposes when it comes to this issue.
14 - Pablo
Oh and while I am at it, since Nalle as usual decided to disparage Mr. Alex Jones of infowars.com, I want to highly recommend his site to readers out there. I find Jones very knowledgeable, articulate, and a fighter for freedom, unlike certain so-called libertarians on this site.
9/11 was in inside job, the CFR is an openly globalist group, the Bilderberg group is real, and is run by the Rothschilds. The FED is a ponzi scheme owned by the bankers most of whom are foreign. GO ALEX JONES!!!

Your point Rog?

Excellent point.

I'm with you. What's a non-issue to some is an issue (for altogether different reasons) with others.

comment 12
I would have to say that that distinction would have to go to your state Clavy of Florida. Where you had the oddballs of Jeb Bush, Katherine Harris, and Porter Goss being elected. Such a more motley crew of fascists I have yet to come across.
19 - Matthew T. Sussman
"I have NEVER seen one MSM story on the birther issue mention the six hundred grand spent fighting it"
I have never seen any major newspaper report on the outbreak of purple ocelots wielding light sabers in Montana, either. If you have a source to either being true, I'd be curious to know.
20 - Pablo
Or as one of my personal heroes Mr. Bob Marley once said:
"Ain't got no birth certificate on me now."
21 - Baronius
I dunno, Clavos. Jesse, Bachman, and Al Franken versus Arnold, Maxine Waters, and Sonny Bono? Sounds about even. Then again, you're right; you expect that kind of thing out of California.
22 - Silas Kain
Perhaps I will write in Osama bin Laden as a write in candidate the next time I vote. At least with him you know what you get. That can't be said for any sitting member of this Congress.

Matthew comment 19
Well sir you put me in a bit of a Catch 22 conundrum, since no MSM will report at all on the legal expenses that the Obama campaign has spent on the birther issue, I suspect that ANY reference that I offer will be summarily dismissed by you.
Nevertheless, in the interest of public debate I will offer up the following url. The law firm is Perkins Coie, and is now in excess of a million bucks to not produce a ten dollar birth certificate to the American people.
"The political action committee 'Obama for America' paid $1,066,691.90 to the Perkins Coie law firm between Oct. 16, 2008 and March 30, 2009, to fight every request to release Obama's original birth records."
Over a million bucks spent in legal fees, to prevent a ten dollar birth certificate from being produced
24 - Pablo
Oh and Silas?
Your own words, I hope you abide by them.
"let's learn how to talk TO each other instead of AT each other!"
25 - Dave Nalle
The principle under which Obama appears to be operating is that it's not a good idea to dignify the accusations and give them any legitimacy by responding to them. It's a sensible policy. Arguing with fanatics is generally pointless and counterproductive. Better to ignore them or ridicule them.
