I find it very interesting that so many people are unfamiliar with the "elephant in the room" phrase. There have been two modern films with that title, one in 1989 (a short film about Northern Ireland) and one in 2003 (a feature film about a fictional high school shooting spree); for both films, the title was a reference to that very phrase. I wonder how many people saw those films and just didn't get it?
