Why The John Edwards News Mistake Is Your Fault - Comments Page 2

The last 24 hours of news about U.S. presidential candidate John Edwards is a perfect example of bad media trend.

The news media abhors a vacuum and will make mistakes in rushed attempts to fill it. The problem is on both sides of the equation; readers and viewers demand answers to questions that can’t yet be answered, so writers and producers speculate.…

Yes, Silas. Blue Velvet is one of my favorites; also, David Lynch kind of went crazy after that.

"Linguistic laziness," Jordan, as you've termed it - but not over something that matters.

Just that his movies since get weirder and weirder.

I'd say Eraserhead was probably the weirdest of all, but of course that's obviously entirely subjective.

Shoot, I must have missed that one. When was it made?

The Mullholland Drive I kind of figured about after five or more viewings; but his latest, The Inland Empire, is something else.

Haha, Inland Empire is NUTS. Eraserhead was his first movie, released in '77. Perhaps the weirdest thing about the film is the sound. You should check it out, though.

Will do, because I'm running out of good shit. Just saw the Reservoir Dogs about five times. Enough.

He's surely talented, hands-on director in almost every aspect. And so much gets edited out from a mass of material, it's no wonder what you get is something beyond truncated. I don't understand the logic, but it works in that he's got a following, almost like a cult.

My favorite though - The Twin Peaks. I have all fifteen tapes of the show and would watch it nonstop.

I grew up in the Inland Empire and can you tell you it IS nuts.

Oh, wait, you mean the movie...?:)

    Thank, BTW, Scott.

Just got the info - much more helpful than the official site.

I will follow through; I still love BC and some people here are really great; too much head-butting though over small shit.

    Roger
