Neither of my sons are in Gaza, thank G-d. They are both home, asleep in their beds. It is highly unlikely that the elder one will ever be called to military service - the younger one is scheduled to go in later this year (or next year in 5770) after he finishes high school.
And do say those prayers - if not for my sons then for those kids who are down there, putting their lives on the line - for what, I'm not sure. If you have a Bible in the house, pick it up and read Psalm #20 for our boys - and remember, they are your boys too, whether your realize it or not. So long as you are proud of that Shield of David, they defend you too.
I only hope to G-d that events force the scum on Government Hill to do the right thing.
