What is Matt Cooper Hiding?

Top Cheney Aide Among Sources in CIA Story

On Sunday, Cooper also said there may have been other sources for that information. He declined to elaborate.

What are Matt Cooper and Judith Miller hiding? Rove waived confidentiality... allegedly so did Libby. Who are the other sources they are trying to protect?

Karl Rove waived confidentiality and testified in front of the Grand Jury without hiding behind the 5th Amendment. The waiver was signed in 2003. Judith Miller went to jail because she was protecting someone, and that person is not Rove.

Today, Cooper indicated there may be other sources but he won't talk about that. The question is, who are those sources and why is the press stonewalling.

Bambenek: "What is he and Judith Miller hiding?"

    1) You have a staggering command of the English language.

    2) I feel obligated to post the story so that readers unfamiliar with what's going on can get an accurate picture.

John you need to add more to this post - and not only the grammar fix - otherwise it will be put back into Draft form.

    - Thank you. Temple

    rpd:

That link is the exact same story that the beginning of my post links to. If you are going to accuse me of bias, don't tell people to go to the SAME FREAKING STORY that I linked to in my post.

    Bambineck:

    1) I don't have to accuse you of bias. Anybody who searches through Blogcrtics will see that for themselves.

    2) The link is there b/c as Temple suggested, there is no information content in your post. Thus, I posted the story AGAIN in case people miss it at the top.

Well, if as you say there is no content, then how could the miss the link when it's part of the precious little content there is?

My quote is from that same story also and a simple question (with more content added this time).

Bambineck even after forced revisions: "Karl Rove waived confidentiality and testified in FROM of the Grand Jury without hiding behind the 5th Amendment."

Bambineck even after forced revisions: "Today, Cooper indicated there may be other sourced but he won't talk abuot that."

    John:

If you are going to write a story (not a comment but a story)... at least go to the trouble to proof-read. And use a spell checker for Pete's sake.

You are your own worst enemy.

Bambineck after two sets of revisions (one forced one voluntary): "Karl Rove waived confidentiality and testified in FROM of the Grand Jury without hiding behind the 5th Amendment."

    Try again John.

Thanks for the additions JB. It's fine now.

It's OK to say "Thanks, I'll correct the spelling" and move on.

    Your link is broken.

You are the ones trying to behead someone for treason, not us. Hate is a DNC value.

Still doesn't address the fact Judith Miller is in jail protecting someone not Rove, and that Cooper inplicitly confirmed it by suggesting there were others and then not being open and honest about it.

I want to know what the media knew and when they knew it.

Not his fault -- the fat-fingered comment editor messed it up. Should work now.

    Jul 17, 2005 at 6:59 pm

    I'm still less than impressed.

If you can say Rove is a liar because of what he's saying, why should I believe Cooper's testimony considering he is less than forthcoming?

Quite frankly, I'm content to wait for the investigation to be done before handing out convictions.

I'd like to step away from the grammar wars long enough to say that it seems to me that whoever the leak was, the party involved in all probability is a member of the Executive Branch of the Federal government. Mr. Rove has maintained a questionable reputation since the campaign of 2000. I believe that it is in this President's best interest that Mr. Rove immediately resign. If he maintains his innocence he will have more time to devote to the clearing of his name. There are too many problems facing this Administration. A person who holds Mr. Rove's position must put the credibility and dignity of the Administration above politics.

Whereas Judith Miller is concerned, the judge had no choice but to follow the rule of law. This President, however, has the authority to bring the entire process to a screeching halt. By failing to act, this President once again proves that 'compassionate conservatism' is nothing more than a political slogan designed to mislead the masses. Mr. President, if you can't have the common decency to take a proactive approach to the Miller tragedy, I suggest you just sign her warrant of execution. Lord knows that you have more than enough experience in that regard.

    Well put Silas.

I have the same feeling about this whole dirty matter that I had about the last election. By hook and by crook, Rove will be in the White House through 2008.

I don't think Bush gives a rat's ass what the country thinks, wants, or cares about.

We're just not on his radar.

But don't you think, Bennett, that more people should understand that this President has an opportunity to bring this whole mess to an end? With one signature on a piece of paper, Judith Miller can go free and tell us what she knows. With one signature on a conditional pardon, Karl Rove could be compelled to fill us in on the truth. This President has the pen, it's about time he uses it.

Right, like maybe he'll fly back from Texas in order to "carry out his duty"...

Culture of life? SOB, give me a culture of TRUTH for a change!

I agree with your comments Silas.

By the way, sorry I wasted some of the blog childishly attacking John in in a semi-roveish way (attack on an irrelevant topic).

Nevertheless, I confess that I did get a sort of perverse enjoyment out of it.
