I recently found a website titled anysoldier.com. The site basically is a middle man between the U.S. and soldiers overseas. It gives you the address of a soldier and information about where to send a care package or just a letter.
So in short, the idea is this: I challenge all bloggers and viewers of BC to write to at least one soldier per day. Anysoldier.com walks you through exactly what to do. One of the best things a soldier can get is a letter from back home.
You can call me Captain Obvious after this, but a couple suggestions. (1) Don't make your letters political in nature. This should not be viewed as a chance to express any discontent on whichever side of the aisle you are from. (2) I would suggest handwritten letters if you have the time, but if you don't I guess it's not really a big deal. Any letter will do. Once again, please support this effort.
Thank you very much!

What makes you think these soldiers want a bunch of rambling letters from some annoying blog geeks they don't even know?
"Hey gang! I just got a card from a 40 year old man! Look- it's made out of construction paper and he spelled out the words USA with elbow macaroni and glitter glue....precious!"

May I ask what this has to do with children's music and gardening books?

Gary, can you be any more childish?
What makes you think that they wouldn't want to receive the letters. It's obvious it's not from "being there!"

The categories have been edited to reflect the nature of the post, Leoniceno.

>>I would suggest handwritten letters if you have the time<<
You clearly haven't seen my handwriting. They don't have enough free time to decipher a letter if I write it by hand.

Thanks for the edit, Eric. I wondered what this had to do with SF book reviews.
