Welcome to monday. I know some of us are very distraught about the latest political atmosphere lately — OK, WE'RE FRIGGIN' PISSED!. There, I said it. Anyway, we are recovering and getting on with our lives, planning, and thinking of ways that we might be able to make a difference in our country. At one end there are people that simply go "Oh well" back to Starbucks for a frothy, overly sweet coffee, and then at the other end of the spectrum you have people like me that have just slowly begun to recover and come back from the ranks of the enraged. I'm drinkin' my coffee black!
But at the far, far corner of the "world of the pissed" lies John Kerry (who will recover and move on) and the now infamous Andrew Veal, 25, of Athens, Georgia who recently took his life at ground zero in protest of our new president and the Iraq war. This guy was in love and engaged to be married. He had his whole life ahead of him and he just chucked it all because of G.W. and his policies.
This is extreme man and you just have to wonder what other loonies are just lying in wait to make their statement. It has been since our 40th president and the wild 80's when president Reagan was shot by a kook. H.W. made it thru Saddam's supposed assassination attempt
and Clinton — well, we all loved him deep down — except for the far right mob squads. Assassination attempts are not things that we've thought about much lately and I'm sure that our secret service has learned from their past mistakes. But this country has a deep dark place where loons hide and considering that half of our country was very much against this president, I just might be a little bit cautious if I were him.
Of course I am not suggesting anything for sure. It's just the simple fact that where there is one kook, there are an army of kooks just waiting to come out of the dark and do looney things when we are not expecting it
