Hey, shape up, Army! Damn pacifists. Get with the program--you're either with us, or with the terrorists. Which is it, U.S. Army? Don't make us sic the Marines on you. You can ask those folks in Baghdad how fun that is.
With a military stronger than the next 14 nations combined, obviously the U.S. can be one kick-ass empire. It might get costly in the long-term, but we can always sell options on a new territory to U.S. corporations. For example, if Arco wants to invest in the conquest of, say, Kuwait, they could get some oil dividends on the back end. Lots of ideas like this will emerge once we start thinking outside the box.
And if the voters have a problem with this whole empire thing, well, we can always have an "election" instead of an election. We've done it once before.
Empire is totally going to rule. I got dibs on Canada.
