I may be wrong, but he’s at least on his second wife; it would be interesting to interview his first. Someone ought to take that up as a project; something tells me that the Beckster’s reality and the public persona would be miles apart, but then Beck could blame that on the alcohol — but wait, you wouldn’t do that in Beck’s world, right: you don’t put anything off, you take responsibility. So, someone call his ex-wife and interview that undoubtedly long-suffering woman: imagine waking up to the red-cheeked, bulbous visage of Beck every morning. While you’re at it, ask her if she’s ever been an alcoholic, because I’m sure she’d be justified. And ask how generous Beck was with his money, if he had any, upon divorce. I’m guessing we all know the answer to that.

By the way, the paradigm of conservatives and their first or second wives has to be our boy Newt, who divorced/left his first wife while she was in the hospital dying of cancer. That’s right, Rush, character counts. It’s just that Newt has none (and by the way, he’s threatening to become a sort of AM radio host as visible as he is these days, what with the next Presidential election only 3.8 years away).

And regarding Newt: god love YouTube, because I recently saw a clip where he said Sarah Palin was in no way ready for prime time; short hand for a Katie Couric interview. But then a moment later he said he’d rather “take his chances” with McCain/Palin over Obama/Biden — they don’t make statesmen like they used to. In other words, Palin’s not ready to give an interview on TV, but ready to run the country. Christ, where do we come up with these guys? Is the pay that bad?

One thing about Newt: you can always predict he'll do something either stupid or hypocritical. But let’s not forget our boy, Glenn Beck.

Herewith, a (not completely substantiated) list of some of Beck’s political commentary, god love him:
