There was a time when your local high-school student could get a summer job working for a fast food place. Not any more! As well, I got tired of having to repeat myself over an over, and then getting the wrong damn food. You don't see Illegals working at Starbucks, or In and Out burger do you? I know this is much more complicated than this, but if we where more strict, corporate America would have to hire people that are qualified for the job.

How about requring doctors to only speak English? How far do you want to take this? We need to encourage English and it can be one of the requirements of citizenship. On the subject of white people won't do jobs the mexicans do; I began working at age 14, 4 - 11PM, washing dishes. I cut grass from the time I could push the mower. I picked and packed corn. I'm 53 now.

I really think it it's not a bad thing to be down on illegal immigration. The US takes nearly a million legal immigrants a year, most of whom are non-European (by quota). That is a lot of people, and quite rightly adds diversity to the mix which isn't the problem.
I know it's difficult to stop illegal immigration entirely, but I'm just not sure that people who reckon shooting people to stop it are on the same planet as the rest of us.
I am a believer, however, in closing borders, and locking up illegal immigrants until their status/stories can be investigated. Genuine refugees, for instance, or those who face real hardship if they are sent home, are welcome in my country but those who try to queue jump just because the scent the chance to make a bigger quid aren't.
I guess we have the luxury here of being an island, but the people smugglers and visa overstayers are still active. Besides, being tough is the best way to send the message: if you weren't invited, don't come, or don't stay. I apply that thinking to whites, oranges, blacks, yellows, greens, and pink polka dots, BTW.
