THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW

Author: KablePublished: Nov 02, 2004 at 8:45 pm 13 comments

Tonight I dream...
of Freedom and Democracy...
of Flag and Flame...
>> of a million strangers casting their die >>

Of baby-boomers...
Wall-Street-predators...
Welfare freaks...
Submissive housewives...
College kids botoxed-on-daddy's-dreams...
Felons-on-a-bum-rap...
Crack-addicts...
Prozac-Sorority-Row-Sisters...

Of a Destructive Man Holding Our Future In His Hands...

Time to place your bets...
Hot-odds on >> dear-Mr-President...
With his hellfire-and-brimstone...
And sly-old-damn-grin...

'The-end-always-justifies-the-means...'
Like hell it does...
'Tis-better-to-strike-than-be-struck...'
Logistics of a pre-emptive mind...
Logistics of the New Patriotism...
OF-THE-BEGINNING-OF-THE-END...

Orwell >> damn you >>
You were SO right...

Consequence of fucking actions...
We know it intimately...

Tonight I dream...
Of a world without corridors...
Of bible-belt-hysteria...
Of the chants of a million deluded disciples...
Of destructive agendas...
Of a New AmeriKa...
Of our future in the wrong hands...

and...

Of a Man Who Could Turn The Tide...

Tonight I dream...
That tyranny slips back into the darkest corner...
and licks its wounds...
quietly...
never to be heard of again...

Melting...
Dissolving...

Into the trauma of yesteryear...
into its wolf-in-sheeps-clothing...

And then...
I open my eyes...

Very moving Kable. Too bad I'm too inarticulate to say anything more.

    I am in mourning...
It is a deep, dark place...
    Merci...
    Oh,inarticulate one...

Very moving and evocative, although, babe, it's just not that bad. A second Bush term will be better than the first, and you're assuming presidents have far more power than they really do.

Oh, and it IS better to strike than to be struck

We're gonna have to agree to disagree, babe...

    Deceptive actions by deceptive administrations...

    The-end-always-justifying-the-means...

    The ironies...
    Too many to address...
    In this tight, tight space...

    A-wolf-in-sheeps-clothing...
    Nothing more...
    Nothing less...

"Oh, and it IS better to strike than be struck."

Pretty tough talk. But then again, it is easier to speak bravely as a civilian journalist in Ohio, rather than to take action as a soldier on the front lines in Fallujah.

Dammit, I keep forgetting that NO ONE who is not currently serving in the military is allowed to voice a policy opinion regarding defense or foreign policy.

I'm not sure how making a general statement that it is better to strike than to be struck violates this dictate, but clearly I have forgotten my place once again

    THE STATS...

What you have to ask yourself, is....
    WAS IT TRULY NECESSARY?
