Stone Cold Al Franken

On the eve of the New Hampshire primaries wiseass and recent bane of the Fox News Network, Al Franken has thrust himself into the spotlight yet again. Errr make that body slammed his way into the spotlight. The New York Post is reporting that Franken responded to a rowdy anti-Dean protest with a full on charge and takedown right out of the WWE. That doesn't seem to me how Stuart Smalley would have handled the situation...

Not as bad as what's coming after it, in Bush II: tax increases, spending cuts, rich man's recovery, oligarchic crony capitalism, unending war for unattainable peace, elites morally corrupted beyond redemption.

And that's just the first six months.

I'm thinking that Bush/Cheney will leave the spending cuts to someone else, despite their "commitment" to reducing the deficit--see Debating the Deficit.

wow, the pope is a nazi, i bet that fits bush's agenda very well.i really never saw that one coming, i mean, i know they all love child molesters but to put a real nazi in the popes chair is a slap in the face to humanity

I think I agree with you on some points Stromberg, but carefull with the rhetoric. It tends to reinforce and legitamize your opposition. It's not very convincing, if you see what I mean.

I'm trying to be more carefull with it, myself.

However, I do share some of your skepticism of the church.

the pope being a nazi is NOT rhetoric, he's a member of the hitler youth party, the catholic church passing around child molestors is not rhetoric, it's a fact, bush's agenda for world domination is not rhetoric, listen to him, that's his plan. what's not very convincing?

Nazi in this case meaning a 14 year old forced conscript into the German army in the last months of the war who deserted at the first opportunity and defected to the allies. What a credit to the Aryan race!

a nazi is a nazi, members of the manson family have deserted and defected to the allies but i wouldn't make one of them the pope! plus, the pope still hates jews and says they are condemned to hell for not believing in jesus, a real reformed nazi there, how many black cardinals were in line to be pope? none? what a surprize, but thy're not rascist, oh no. he can pretend to be holy but people see right thru hatemongers, i noticed you did not address the child molesting hobbies he and the other cardinals like to play, i suppose all the catholics have reformed now and we shouldn't punish them, after all, they defected to the allies, after getting caught with their pants down near your child's mouth

    Actually G. Stromberg,There was a black
cardinal in line for the job of Pope.
This is Cardinal Arinze of Nigeria, who
was under consideration for the job. Our
present Pope was forced into The Hitler
Youth movement and into labor at a plant
that was making parts for anti-aircraft
weaponry. This was the norm for ALL men
and boys of fighting age in the Nazi ran
Germany of WW2. It was that or be shot,
or face an even worse fate. He defected
as Dave points out, as soon as he could.
But please do not let facts get in the
    way of a good rant.

PS:I'm not here to defend Catholicism or
any other beliefs by the way.

actually i would have more respect for the nazi pope if he stood up for his beliefs and resisted the nazis instead of joining them and saying he had too, did jesus join the nazis because they might punish him if he didn't or did he stand up for what was right, the pope nazi could have stood up for what was right and refused to join them.
