People have died, people are dying.
I don't want to hear about blame.
I don't want to hear about political fallout.
I don't want to hear people bitching about donating money.
I don't want to hear who this is 'good' for.
I want to hear that a mass mobilization of national forces has been ordered.
I want to hear that Greyhound has been temporarily nationalized to get people out of New Orleans alive.
I want to hear that the lives of these Americans are too precious to politicize.
I want to hear that the federal government of the most powerful country in the world is doing everything it can to protect its citizenry - no matter how rich or poor they are.
To those who talk about the political advantages and disadvantages of this situation, I hope Karma shows no mercy.
To those who have gone out of their way to help these people in need, to the mayors of the surrounding cities who have overlooked the monetary strain of taking these refugees in, and to those who are helping to bring relief and comfort to the people of Louisianna and Mississippi, you are all my heroes.
Yours in frustration, Justin

I understand what you're saying, Justin, and I'm sorry. I've been online and on the phone for the last 2 days trying to do what I can from my little corner of the world. I don't have much but any victim that needs whatever I have is more than welcome to it. I've gathered clothes, washed them and sent them off to the Salvation Army. I'm working with a local GLBT group to open our homes to GLBT victims who otherwise would be tossed aside. What drives me is my anger. If that's what it takes to drive other people, I will piss off a nun if I have to.

Finally. I'm disgusted with the things people have posted around here. Nicely put, Justin, and I agree one hundred per cent.

Too bad people died waiting to be rescued.
Now they are rat food.
Are your eyes and ears bleeding yet?
