Satire: O'Reilly on the Olympics

America-hating judges refusing to give medal-winning scores to the U.S., that's the subject of tonight's Talking Points Memo.

Image hosting by PhotobucketWell, the U.S. is currently the recipient of eighteen medals at the Winter Olympic games in Turin, Italy. That's seven golds, seven silvers, and four bronzes. This total puts us at third place in the international Olympic medal count. Now, this is okay, but it's not reflective of how the U.S. could and should be doing in these Olympic games, and we at the Factor do not believe that it's reflective of how the U.S. IS doing.

As anyone who follows these things knows, the U.S. entered these games predicting, with impressive confidence, a high medal count. And to us that means only one thing: the Americans knew that they were the best team out there, which is why they had no reservations about saying so.

So what's the explanation for their poor performance? Well, it's very simple: activist judges. The Olympic judges have made it very clear that for the most part, they have no intention of allowing the U.S. team to win a medal. These anti-American protestors are so dead-set on blocking American victories, they've even gone so far as to award more medals to Germany — the nation that refused to cooperate with our coalition in Iraq and now threatens to do the same in Iran — and Austria, birthplace of Adolf Hitler.

And if these examples aren't obvious enough slaps in the face toward the United States, note that we are only two medals ahead of, and tied for gold medals with, Russia. That's right, Russia. Not only another opponent of our efforts in the Middle East, but our traditional enemy from the Cold War. Every medal they win is a medal for Lenin, Stalin, and the Ayatollahs of Iran...and they're gaining on us.

    Michael,

nice try, but I don't think you completely captured Bill's tone or used enough buzzwords.

Outstanding work, Monsieur West- though I'm sure you're involved in the far left conspiracy to deny US our fair and balanced medal count- which would, of course, be approximately ALL of them. It's manifest destiny, and so on.

Consider this in place of a personal attack, pinhead. I didn't know adults whined so much in public.

Thanks Mr. Barger. Roger, I based this on transcripts of the Talking Points Memo, whereas Steve Martin based his on O'Reilly's radio show. Two different versions of O'Reilly-speak.

But if I did miss some buzzwords, I hope I made up for it with the facts I fudged and/or made up whole cloth.

Hey, how's about somebody conjure up a link to this Steve Martin piece. Also Mr West, if you are judged to have been comedically edged out by, you know, STEVE MARTIN, that would not particularly be a mark of failure, would it?
