Satire: National Organization For Women Calls For Abolishing Of Fathers Day In Lawsuit - Comments Page 2

A lawsuit seeks to abolish Father's Day as discriminatory against women and celebrating rapists, child abusers, and wife beaters.

The National Organization for Women (NOW) and other women advocacy groups have filed suit against the Bush Administration seeking to abolish Fathers Day. During a press conference held after the filing of the lawsuit, Kim Gandy of NOW said, "the day clearly indicates that it is meant to recognize only fathers."…

That, is the most stupid article I've read this year.. haha. I'm a female, and I think that they're just seeing the bad side. Really, there are women who don't take care of their children, There are women that sexually abuse. It's not just men. I think the people who filed the lawsuit are descriminating against men. If they abolish father's day, they should abolish mother's day, too.

women want equal rights so they have them.
they have there mothers day and we have fathers day.
but then it just shows what women are like trying to ban one and not the other.

    screw you all

That... has to be one of the most messed up things ever... Now claims that they're fighting against discrimination - so why ban Father's Day? It's not always just women who have to survive as sole parents... perhaps they should stop being so ignorant themselves...

Heck, let's just ban Mother's Day as well and call it even?

this must be a joke, if not join me brothers and we well rename fathers day MAN DAY, we will make the rituals include excessive drinking, dube smokin, and make all national sports leagues play a game at some point during that day (and it has to be a classic match-up)and everyone in the house is only allowed to speak when spoken to (except your buds),......honestly if this is what the ACLU does then fuck em, what a senseless waste of time, maybe women dont want men to work? have the economy collapse? live in squalor and through that be beaten and raped which happens a lot more often in impoverished countries than ours? what a joke hope those bitter dykes rot in hell, fuckin dipsticks

Wow i hope this is a joke because if not i hope the writer realizes how hypocritical not to mention it pretty much said every man is a rapist, wife beater, child molester and doesn't pay child support it also says they want to abolish Fathers Day because it acknowledges only fathers i wonder if they ever heard of Mothers Day.

You see most men probably wouldnt care if fathers day was banned, along with mothers day! But im sure alot of women would be upset they dont have mothers day if it was to be banned. These people seem to be talking out of their arses, and talking for every woman in the world who has kids and loves them, when the flip side is that most women probably dont give a crap about it or think its stupid to ban fathers day and not mothers day with it.

This is why there is so few female leaders!

    Jun 18, 2007 at 12:37 pm

Abolish it?? are you crazy? would you like mothers day bein axed from the calander? where do you get off? by making such mockery of the special day you're discriminating against all the fathers out there, with equal rights enforced shouldn't there be an equal number of days to honour our parents? Stop discrimination by not discriminating against others!!

I hear it every, he's discriminating me... she's discriminating me.....
there are aleays times to raise the flag of discrimination, but getting rid of fathers day is not the way to go.

It seems this whole campaign is to keep children away from their fathers for one more day of the year.

I'm not discriminating against anyone, i'm just looking outside the box.

Okay so I didn't even bother reading the whole article - I guess that makes me a male chauvinistic pig (ironically, look up chauvinist - one of the definitions is "male chauvinistic pig" - recursive logic anybody?!) but aren't we forgetting something called MOTHERS DAY ??!! Or perhaps in the interests of equality we should amalgamate the two into "Parents Day" - or even better "Legal Guardians Day" but that would only work up to 18 so how about "Significant Parental Role Models Day" ??
C'mon, you're being stupid - more femenist bullshit, call me sexist, but i respect real women, not women so obsessed with their inferiority complexs that they have to blame everything on men whilst at the same time behaving in a more masculin, non-feminine manner.
I think it's high time we start the masculinist movement and burn our boxer shorts... ... ...

Women do not want to be treated the same as men they just want the same pay, but they want to be treated like ladies. I can say wow look at that set of jugs to any man at work and he says Oh Ya thats nice. I say it anywhere near a women and there goes my house, job, and a mess of civil law suits. That is not equal. when I can say or do the same things in front of you that I can with my buddies thats when your equal and should be treated as such. till than waaah!

The problem with feminists and every special interest group the time to fight for eqaul rights is long gone society has so much PC in the works you can't berate, or disriminate anybody or anything(except smokers but thats another subject) without having the snot sued out of you or accusations of a hate crime. These groups are fighting for special rights now.

zedd... even though this is clearly marked "satire" about four times near the top and, beyond that, it should be painfully obvious to anyone with a brain that no one is going to get rid of father's day... people just don't read. and from the comments, it's pretty obvious that some of these guys have never seen why lies beneath panties, or else they would have at least a tiny bit of respect for women.

gentlemen--beyond the power of the pussy, which is awesome and never-ending in scope, women are also pretty much better than men, overall. it's not really a question. men are dull. women are... mmm, women.

    more for me, i guess.

Truthsayer, equal pay for equal work. What the hell is so hard to understand about that? Its about the work. And workplaces should be as professional and comfortable in atmosphere as possible.

I'm female. If you were to say to me, "Hey, look at the jugs on that one", I'd be likely to say, "Yeah, nice rack." At least I would in a casual situation, because I've been known to glance at a nice rack from time to time. Nothing wrong with appreciating the boobage.

But in a work situation, in a professional atmosphere, I would find your comment distasteful. Just because I might appreciate a nice rack, doesn't mean the other women I work with (and perhaps many of the men) wouldn't be uncomfortable with that sort of banter.

What if a man you worked with looked at the crotch of a male passer-by and said, "Hey, look at the package on that guy!". How would you feel? As a jug-lover, perhaps you'd feel uncomfortable? Should you have to be subjected to sexual commentary that makes you uncomfortable? Should any of us?

Individuals (it isn't just about men or women) have varying degrees of sensitivity to sexual commentary. A devout christian man might be just as offended by your 'jugs' comment as any given woman. A devout christian man would probably far more offended than I would be. And that is why most workplaces have rules in place to keep the workplace pleasant for everyone. If you can't be a considerate colleague, then maybe you should find a bunch of gorillas to work with.

I just don't get it. Is it going to kill you to keep your jugs-appreciation to yourself for eight hours out of the day? Is your penis going to explode if you don't verbally express your jug-lust? Are men really that oafish and uncontrolled? If so, then maybe you should all be lobotimized and your sperm harvested for future generations.

However, I've known far too many intelligent, interesting men to believe that you're all a bunch of dumb brutes. Perhaps, truthsayer, its just you and the other few who seem to have found this article and are unable to read the word 'satire' in front of the title who are the oaves.

And as far as Father's Day is concerned, its become just another consumerism-fest. If both it and mother's day were abolished, I wouldn't bat an eyelash. I love my father and honor him in my heart and mind every day. He was a wonderful influence on me and I am grateful to have had him in my life. I don't need one day out of the year to remember him - he's with me always.

But for the mouth foamers, repeat after me, "Its only a satire. Its only a satire."

actually, mother's day was created by a woman after her mother died. she felt there was no day that celebrated motherhood, so she lobbied the president to create such a day. a few years later, after the greeting card, flower and chocolate companies got ahold of mother's day, the same woman lobbied the president to get rid of mother's day.

Gotta love feminists, though. "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle."

Let's be honest; the only women who say that are lesbians, or ugly (or both).

Men need women. Women need men. We are both different, but equal.

And you can quote me on that.

nope. i just like the ladies. i just admit it when i'm beat. truthfully... you really don't have an inferiority complex when confronted with a well put together woman? even the best looking man don't have one damn thing on a beautiful woman. their beauty is just so much more than men's.

i mean, they're all round, got fat in all the right spots. they got the little gap. you know, the gap? damn straight you know the gap. funniest thing how a total lack of something, just a little space where light shines through, is the sexiest goddamn thing on the fuckin planet.

Firstly what about the good fathers out there that are home look after there kids and have great marriages, don't they deserve one? And wat about the stay at home dads that look after their kids everday of the year? don't they deserve one? Just because there are some men that abuse people doesn't mean you have a reason to abolish a day. Talk about women's rights what about equal opportunity if we abolish father's dat lets abolish mother's day too. What about the women that abuse there children and kill there husbands, i am sure many are for good reason but there are also many that aren't, women are just as capable of doing wrong as men are take prostitutes for example! Half of women's rights activists are all about demeaning men and their rights wake up tp yourselves and stop thinking of wat is on the news how about the people who do the right thing and award them. There is a worse problem in the world than terrorism, thats the political BS going on in our own countries. Looks like womens rights are leading the way

"Marriage as an institution developed from rape as a practice. Rape, originally defined as abduction, became marriage by capture. Marriage meant the taking was to extend in time, to be not only use of but possession of, or ownership."

Yeesh. Life of the party. Where can I mount my wife? She came up with this while on a mushroom trip during a gangbang she paid to join.

"My old lady came home with some paper crap she picked up from some NOW place. She tried to tell me I dont respect her and treat her as equal. What kind of bull crap is that. I bitch slapped her and slapped her titties into Joebobs trailer. After that she gave me a blow job. That will teach them females from NOW."

Yeah. I hear ya. I took mine to a local chapter and told her to bend over in front of the window. That learned them.

"I just don't get it. Is it going to kill you to keep your jugs-appreciation to yourself for eight hours out of the day? Is your penis going to explode if you don't verbally express your jug-lust? Are men really that oafish and uncontrolled? If so, then maybe you should all be lobotimized and your sperm harvested for future generations."

Um, yes and do you have a nice rack?

On a serious note: Noticed that many people leaving comments are satire-challenged.

This is silly. Fathers day is more about the children than the fathers. Fathers day gives children a chance to connect with their fathers in an otherwise alienating world.
Removing fathers day will do nothing more than punish the vast majority of fathers who do the best they can for their children, and widen the already gaping divide between the sexes.

  • 65 - Domascus

    Jun 19, 2007 at 12:14 am

Personally, I think we need to ban Mother's Day as well. Let's just throw them both away. Who in this world needs a day to praise their father or their mother? Such old world respect needs to be done away with... We live in a world of independence, of visionaries. We live in a world where you need to have respect only for your self, forget your parents, forget other people. You and what You think is all that matters, no one else matters and what other people think and say doesn't matter.

Children. When I was a child, I did childish things, but when I became a man(adult)I put those childish things away.

When will people learn how to get along? A laughable dream as far as the people in this world are concerned.

You don't get what NOW is so you are all over the place."

No Zedd, I do get what NOW is, I just don't buy what they pretend to be, that's why I found the story believable.

NOW claims to be an organization devoted for the empowerment of ALL women. They claim to support all women when in fact they are nothing but a mouthpiece for the far left.

One need go no further than their webpage to see this. It is riddled with support for leftist views and there is no tolerance for open and honest dissent among the ranks of NOW.

NOW stands for National Organization for Women? So why then did NOW not come to the aid of all the women who went public after they had been sexually harassed by Bill Clinton? Why does NOW not let women who have pro-life or anti gay marriage use thier organization to express their views?

Any attempt by NOW to paint themselves as anything other than the far left mouthpiece, willing to savage any women who does not dare toe the leftist line is a complete and utter joke.

Hey Zedd....it walks like a duck but you can still keep calling it a swan.

First of all how many horrible fathers and mothers there are out there, don't give me that shit that is your mother or your father. Hallmark created Mothers Day why ? Simple stupid to increase sales for cards, now it's one big cash grab.
