Santa Claus A Democrat. Scrooge & the Grinch Republicans

Just when you thought it was safe to put away your Vote Bush and Vote Kerry buttons along comes findings from another political survey. This time it's the political leanings of Jolly Ol' St. Nick himself.

Survey says....Santa Claus is probably a Democrat. While Ebenezer Scrooge and the Grinch are more likely to be members of the Republican party.

What does it mean?
1) Democrats are jolly and nice
2) Republicans are mean and nasty
3) The Republican Party needs a better PR agency
4) It doesn't matter if you've been naughty or nice it's who you voted for that counts.
5) Those reindeer are really donkeys with fake antlers
6) The Republican Party's new tag line - "Bah Humbug!”
7) The Democratic Party theme song - Grandma Got Run Over By A Raindeer
8) Air Force One could be replaced by a sled and 8 tiny donkeys

Hey, If you care... Zogby International, the research firm, says the margin of error is +/- 2.0 percentage points.

That's funny, but I don't know what you mean by the Republicans needing a better PR agency. They might be known for being greedy and mean, but this election has shown us that is clearly what Americans want in political office.

As for #1 and #2, I would have to agree. Admittedly though, I am a Dem.

    Hi Toby,

    Interesting! Lots of fun.

Of course, it's no wonder Zogby is running Santa Claus polls -- Zogby's credibility as a serious political pollster is kaput.

(In case anyone still had doubt from the ridiculous, jerry-rigged exit polling on election day.)

    Best,
    Anita

hilarity Toby! But everyone knows Santa Claus is a socialist, giving away everything he has every single year - what a loon

Santa's no loon. People love him! Since people really love others who give them stuff that is free to them, Democrats being wise political players do this. Republicans have learned much over the years, and have become wise political players, too. They ladle heaps of goodies right alongside the Democrats.

So, whether or not the GOP needs to buy some PR depends on how you look at it. They continue to fool most fiscal conservatives with their image that the Republicans are 'mean' budget-shrinkers, so why mess up that perfectly good ruse? On the other hand, maybe the GOP should get some recognition from the other side on this. After all, this President's first term featured double-digit budgetary growth... something neither Clinton nor Carter could achieve.

I like the Grinch. His heart grew three times in size and he gave the who-villians back all the stuff he stole from them. Kind of like the Bush tax cuts.
