Republicans - Running Scared

In a pathetic sign of fear ...

The [Michigan] state Republican Party asked prosecutors in four counties to file charges against [Michael] Moore for offering underwear and food to college students in exchange for a promise to vote.

Prosecutors in Isabella, Ingham and Antrim counties said they determined no action was warranted. A spokeswoman for Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Thursday that election law violations should be handled by the attorney general's office.

[Isabella County's Larry] Burdick said he chooses "to devote our resources to prosecuting those who are delivering cocaine to our young people rather than underwear." [County prosecutors in Michigan reject request to charge Michael Moore 10/07/2004]

A well-deserved wedgie for the Republicans.

Well, what else do the Repubs have to discuss? after today's news, it is OFFICIAL that Iraq had no weapons, and no programs to develop weapons. We also know that Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11. So, they fucked that up. Shall we look internally? Our deficit is the highest it's ever been, and don't think for a second that is a cost of war. The war is grossly underfunded... all the money is going to private contractors and mercenaries.

They have rolled back environmental... well... everything. We have lost MILLIONS of jobs (I know, I lost 3 of them personally in the last four years). We have antagonized all our old allies.

what in the world does the GOP stand for anymore, and why would anyone (who isn't filthy rich and white) vote for them?

So, if that's a pathetic sign of fear, what do you call this? I know what you're thinking, but come on, Rove can't be everywhere at once, can he? But boy, he sure is extra spooky.

Anti-Bush protestor attacks GOP committee chairman in Gainesville

In Miami, more than 100 union protesters stormed the Bush-Cheney campaign office and pushed volunteers inside

In Tampa, about three dozen protesters crowded into the second-floor office of the local Bush-Cheney headquarters where three elderly volunteers, two interns and a campaign staffer were working at the time

Shots fired into a GOP headquarters in Knoxville

In Madison, a Nazi swastika was burned into a home's lawn near where Bush-Cheney signs were posted

    Self-defense?

Serriously, though, do you have links to those stories on impartial sites (not right-wing blogs)?

I'd really be interested in seeing them.

    Thanks.

AAARGGGH! No bloody mention of the other part of the report stating (as I've posted in another thread) about the pretty much overt bribary of the countries that opposed the war (met with nothing more than a glib remark) and the fact that the conclusion was that Saddam was waiting for sanctions to be lifted so he could resume his plans!!!!!

Oh, and don't forget the $350 million he diverted into a military slush fund, according to the SAME report you're touting.

Oh, and Bremer has come out and complained about being quoted out of context by Kerry supporters and that he in fact SUPPORTS President Bush's approach.

I can't believe how the Dems on this site have the balls to accuse only the Republicans of spinning facts and the truth.

Both sides do it, only I'm honest enough to admit it.

    Hypocrites.

Had the president told America that he wanted their support to oust a dishonest man who was bribing people, how many do you supppose would have thought that was a great idea?

I don't even know any Republicans that would have agreed to send Americans off to be killed for that, do you?

You're missing the point. The bribery was to keep us at bay and to get the situation to the point where he was left alone and the sanctions would be lifted, so that he could then go and pick up where he left off before the Gulf War with building his military and WMD programs.
