Presidential Redress

Well tonight Junior made his Presidential Redress. Captain Obvious began by saying that the Gulf Coast was hit by a big disaster and you probably guessed it, said that New Orleans will rise again. And then, being true to himself, as usual he tried to move us with yet another inspirational story of the Average Joe, like he always seems to meet and talk with, who said he would not leave, he would rebuild and rebuild higher.
Compassion
Once again the compassionate president spoke of compassion, on which I choked. This is how Merriam Webster defines compassion:
Main Entry: com•pas•sion Pronunciation: k&m-'pa-sh&n Function: noun Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French or Late Latin; Middle French, from Late Latin compassion-, compassio, from compati to sympathize, from Latin com- + pati to bear, suffer — more at PATIENT : sympathetic consciousness of others' distress together with a desire to alleviate it synonym see PITY - com•pas•sion•less /-l&s/ adjective

Which is all good, but as a would-be Buddhist, I tell you the story the Buddha told on compassion. He spoke of two monks walking in the woods when suddenly one of them is struck with an arrow. What does the other monk do? Does he wonder where the arrow came from? Does he wonder why his friend was speared? Does he wonder what the arrow is made of? Does he wonder if it is poisoned? No he simply pulls out the arrow and bandages his friend and helps him. He certainly doesn’t stay on vacation, visit Arkansas, San Diego, and get interviewed on Good Morning America before pulling the arrow out. He helps right away.

How can a man, any man, imbued with the powers that come with being the president of the United-States of America, just stay on vacation and not help out his fellow human beings in the pits of suffering? I seriously don’t care if the local and state emergency response system failed, or even if the federal emergency response failed. Why, as a human being, has he failed to even react?

Those who abandoned 32 old people in the geriatric care home have been caught and will be harshly prosecuted for negligent deaths. And that’s good. But I ask you, why is the president allowed to continue with his presidency? He’s often compared to a CEO, well if a CEO failed at his job he would be fired from his job. Why then is he still the POTUS?

Good post. I'm disgusted that, now BushBoy has uttered the magic words "I take responsibility" (which means exactly nothing, since saying so has absolutely NO actual repercussions on his lifestyle or his position), every idiotic gull dumb American out there is now going "awwwwwwww...he's a good guy after all...." No, he's not. As pointed out above, even in the midst of disaster he's still handing out pork & prizes to his most-favored charities, Big Business; implicit - explicit even - in his claims to rebuild New Orleans is a promise of billions to go to rebuild business. Oh, friggin' great: yet MORE corporate welfare to the very richest, least needy, & among the least deserving entities in the entire world. Because what businesses does he have in mind? Is it Mom & Pop's Corner Grocery? Surely you jest. No - it's EXXON, & STANDARD OIL, and other such mega-multinationals already raking in billions in record-breaking profits every quarter at our expense.

But My Fellow Americans are too stupid to understand this. They all stand around with their thumbs up their collective asses & some may grumble, but the rest can't connect the dots to save their own lives - or jobs, or economies. And the MSM & punditry, meanwhile, are now busy yipping happily about the new & improved Bush who's had a change of heart along with the wake-up call.

I spit on them as being the gullible fools they are, & on Bush the perpetual liar & con man most of all. He's just using this as a new opportunity to rape the public, to pull the ol' shell game of directing profits & government funds in even greater amounts to his fat cat buddies, while pretending to help the average taxpayer. There must be a special place in hell for maggots like Bush, if there is any God and any justice of God whatsoever.

I wonder how everyone who stomped on Jesse Jackson for saying race had something to do with the problems in New Orleans will react now that Bush said race was indeed a factor.

'Uh, well if Bush says so, I guess there must be something to it.'

But if a black leader says so, it can't be true?

    Nope, no rascism in that.

Of course not; you never believe the victims, you ought to know that. They're biased, to say the least - altho I don't count Jackson as a victim w/the rest, as he's got assets & resources none of them (or even most whites) have or ever have a hope of having.

Thanks Nancy and no you don't believe them, you blame them. Just like rape victims get blamed for their rape, for being cock-teasers, the victims will be blamed for being poor, for being dumb enough to live in a city below city level. Am I going over-board? Nope. I've heard this from Americans, some of them my friends. They rather blame the victims who lost everything than admit that Junior bungled up big time.
