Presidential Election 2004 - Page 13

JOKING MATTERS
Voting was a snap in my election district. So I'm back earlier than I expected, and happy to see a joke called "The Balloonist" about Republicans and Democrats, which is making the email rounds. It's being attributed to Garrison Keillor....

VOTING IS A GAS.
("Book of Joe's" recent entry on the Flatulence Deodorizer provides the perfect intro to this piece.) --- Well, I did it. Something I once swore I'd never do again: I voted for the Democratic presidential candidate. (Of course, since Colorado...

Endorsements, Such As They Are
I admit to being caught off guard and not a little nonplussed at Christopher Hitchens's apparent endorsement of Kerry in Slate last week. He now tells us he meant to endorse no one: The late Lillian Hellman was a ghastly...

Nice to Know – The Crap is already Flying
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens Tuesday allowed Republicans to challenge voter qualifications at the polls in Ohio, a key battleground state that could determine the presidential election. Nice to know the crap is already beginning...

Voting Observations
I voted this morning and the line was really long. I was thinking about a few things while I was in there. I wonder who Colin Powell is going to vote for today? After being ignored for much of the...

A Bush/Kerry Split on Google?
In studying the Google stock message boards at Yahoo, Clearstation, and MSN, I find there is a pattern of pro-Bush long traders on Google and pro-Kerry shorters. I can't imagine Google has really all that much to do with politics,...

thanks Jason! It's a good way to follow along in chronological order, and with it all in one place you can spot trends and relationships between stories and themes you might not have otherwise noticed

Eric- I'll second the note of thanks, with a special appreciation for a pic of Badnarik that is standard fare rather than one of him blowing his nose or the like. The Nader image is his own, so nobody could get too riled about it, but it looks like a Gary Numan album cover to me.

Who are we to believe on the conditions in Iraq? A man who is risking his life every minute of the day who lives there (Allawi) and is the Prime Minister, or a man running for president that would benefit by worsening conditions(JFK)?

everyone has an angle, including Allawi, but that is not an unresonable question

This is, in fact, a wonderful source for issues, personalities and the important things we need to consider at this time. It has been wonderfully put together and should serve as a model for the future.
