Well, at least I don't have a murdering drunk representing my interests in the US senate.

Shall we talk about the First Lady? When all else fails there's nothing like bringing out Chappaquiddick. Maybe you should take a couple of those valiums Mommy has hidden in the night stand from 1958.

And we don't have a murdering drunk representing our interests in the white house?

No, Nancy. He stopped drinking. He found Jesus. He sought repentance. And now he's President. It's called selling your soul to the Devil, or in this case, Karl Lucifer Rove.

"Shall we talk about the First Lady? "

The last I checked, Silas, the First Lady isn't an elected official working to pass legislation. She wields as much power as the little man that sells ice cream to the kids in your neighborhood.

"When all else fails there's nothing like bringing out Chappaquiddick."

Why not? It's not every state that can boast a real live murderer representing their interests in the US legislature!

How about we talk about the other philandering Kennedy brothers from the great state of Massachusetts? Good ol' Jack and Bobby, who took one in the head for the team! rah! rah! rah!

And need I mention Rep. Barney Frank, your legislator who ran a gay prostitution ring out of his apartment? Wow! How becoming for a US congressman! I'd be embarrased if he were representing me.

And I haven't even mentioned failed Presidential candidate John Kerry yet!

He CLAIMS he stopped drinking, but do you seriously think that if he had resumed, anyone would admit it? There's another thread currently that has come interesting comments on W's mood swings, medications, etc. & can believe it.

well, nancy, I'm sure you can't set a watch by Bush's alleged mood swings like you can by your monthly PMS induced mood swings.

    Try again, kid. No PMS.

Which must mean you're too old to menstruate. It must be like the old haunted house down there, eh?

What's uncouth, Joe, is Nancy stating that the President's asshole was in the middle of his face.

  • 186 - Silas Kain

    Aug 25, 2005 at 6:49 pm

Be cautious, Mark. You can spit out all that shtick about the Kennedy brothers and Barney Frank but you have no idea what's coming down the pike. There are those ultra right wingers who will be exposed in this election cycle for their own philandering ways. By the time the outting is complete, Barney Frank's indiscretions (which he paid for dearly) will seem like a high school prank. After reviewing all that you have written on Blogcritics I can only conclude that you belong in the same category with Stalin, Hitler and Eva Peron.

Aw, now, Silas, you're flattering him. Remember his personality: like a jack russell racing around yapping at pigeons & fancying he's bullying the world, lol, he has to descend to puerile insults like 'pinko puke'. He's not worth my attention, altho you're welcome to joust w/him if it amuses you.

  • 188 - Silas Kain

    Aug 25, 2005 at 6:57 pm

Thanks, Nancy, I'm done with the joust. I have more important things to do with my time. I love the vision of the Jack Russell. I can see Marky Mark spinning around in circle now, chasing his tail. The problem is that the tail is too short for him to reach. Too bad the moil didn't come with a Good Housekeeping Guarantee.

    Good Day.

    it's mohel, not "moil", schmuck.

You're not very good at being a Jew, are you, Silas?

"By the time the outting is complete, Barney Frank's indiscretions (which he paid for dearly) will seem like a high school prank."

Right, nothing could be more disgusting than what Frank did. You're just talking shit now. You don't know a thing about "what's coming down the pike."

  • 191 - Dave Nalle

    Aug 25, 2005 at 8:16 pm

Silas, Barney Frank's boyfriend was running a gay prostitution ring out of their apartment. To be worse than that your hypothetical philandering right wingers would have to be molesting children or making snuff films. Which I suppose isn't impossible, but I have my doubts.

Silas doesn't know. He's stuck in a crummy US state with a pimp and a murderer for legislators.

  • 193 - Dave Nalle

    Aug 26, 2005 at 2:32 am

Hey, Barney Frank may be a second-hand pimp, but he's one of the most reasonable Democrats in office right now, so give him a break. He's head and shoulders above insane weasels like John Conyers.

"Appeared to be"? No "appeared" about it...he was...

  • 195 - Silas Kain

    Aug 26, 2005 at 10:10 am

Heh heh heh. I understand what you're saying, Dave. There are many left wing activists out there right now who are working to the bone to dig up dirt on the right wingers. I don't care about their success. As I see it the witch hunt should come to an end on both sides because we have plenty of other issues confronting us.

Insofar as the insults and hyperbole from the irrational and unsensible is concerned, I've decided that it's not worth the diatribe. Once he insulted my parents by insulting my upbringing, he lost what little credibility he had left. You see, say what you will about me being queer, living an immoral life, or being a commie pinko. Leave my folks out of it. He crossed the line and has proven that he is as irrational as post partum Palestinian woman stuck in a kibbutz during Passover. And to any Arabic women out there, I don't mean to insult you.

  • 196 - Mark the Sane and Sensible

    Aug 26, 2005 at 10:31 am

"but he's one of the most reasonable Democrats in office right now,"

Dave: "reasonable Democrat" is a contradiction in terms. People that think with their heart instead of their head (the one above the shoulders) are not reasonable.

  • 197 - s

    Nancy:

Sorry it took so long to get back to you.

The economic left that worries me is the one that dismisses globalization and private investment. Compare the world infant mortality rate in 1991 to the world infant mortality rate today.

I also dislike the economic right that dismesses the problems of globalization and private investment (ie, the two-tier economy in the States, political corruption and international corporations wiping out small locally owned business in developing countries)

Your comments on my vulgarity and lack of wit are, sadly, accurate, but I'm pretty sure 'chicken fucker' is in fact two words.

  • 198 - Eric Berlin

    Aug 26, 2005 at 10:37 am

Have you noticed that it's ironic that some people's Blogcritics handles are also a "contradiction in terms"?

    I'm just saying.

  • 199 - Mark the Sane and Sensible

    Aug 26, 2005 at 10:54 am

Like I've said before, eric berlin, I am sane and sensible to anyone that shares my strident anti-liberal views.

If you aren't an anti-liberal, you aren't going to "get it." Politics and political discussion in my estimation is just like war, so I adopt a take-no-prisoners approach. You might not approve of that tactic, but that's how it is, like it or not.

I hope that is an adequate explanation for you.

  • 200 - Silas Kain

    Aug 26, 2005 at 11:20 am

You see, Eric, to the Straussian disciple, they are not happy unless they create a threat for the population to fear. They adopt the principle that war is better than peace; hence the manufactured threat of WMDs. When I hear conservatives talk about the deceptions of William Jefferson Clinton I have to laugh. The driving forces behind this Administration subscribe to the theory that deception is a most necessary component in governance. I suggest reading Sy Hersh's Selective Intelligence, it's an eye opener.

Which is exactly why I like Barney Frank. I may not agree with his politics on a lot of issues, but he's one Democrat who's always willing to discuss things with the other side and try to find common ground. We need more of that.

  • 204 - Nancy

    Aug 26, 2005 at 11:30 am

MTSS really is out of his mind. Don't bother even responding; it's not worth it, and he's not open to logic or even rational discourse. If you don't agree w/him 100%, you're the enemy, according to him.

  • 205 - Eric Berlin

    Aug 26, 2005 at 11:31 am

In that sense, he's actually explained himself rather reasonably.

  • 206 - Al Barger

    Aug 26, 2005 at 10:53 pm

I'ma throw in with Nalle on Barney Frank. He's a little twisted, but you can have a reasonable conversation with him.

  • 207 - Dave Nalle

    Aug 26, 2005 at 11:30 pm

We ought to compile a list of Democrats who are not flipped-out ideologues sometime, Al. I'd almost consider putting Ted Kennedy on the list now that we've seen what real extremists like Durbin, Conyers and Rangel are like.

"arguing or even attempting rational discourse with It remains even more futile than pissing up a rope..."

It's futile with you gonzo because you're a unrepentant liar and a champion of a drunken drug addicted loser from the 60s.

"MTSS really is out of his mind."

This is coming from a bona fide Jew hater who complains about the US money spent supporting Israel and who doesn't think that Jews contributed anything special to the world. Nancy is a estrogen challenged old hag in need of history lesson and a few years living in a war zone. Nancy obviously knows nothing of life and death on a daily basis.

  • 210 - Al Barger

    Aug 27, 2005 at 12:50 am

Dave, I'm afraid Kennedy ain't getting on any least of reasonable, principled opposition anytime soon.

I would hasten to put my former opponent Senator Bayh on the good list.

We'll have to come up with a name for it. It'd be a nice right wing goodwill starter kit.

  • 211 - Dave Nalle

    Aug 27, 2005 at 1:35 am

Wait, I didn't say 'principled', just that he was open to negotiating and not a real ideologue. He wouldn't be on the top of my list either. He's just the farthest I'd consider going.

My old schoolmate Evan Bayh would certainly make the list.

    Dave

  • 212 - Anthony Grande

Kennedy is a drunken murderer. He drove a girl into a lake and ran away to call his lawer instead of saving her.
He should get the death penalty.

The thing I like about MTS&S is that he makes Bambenek look like a centrist.

  • 214 - Al Barger

Yeah, him and Mr Grande do help move that "centrist" goalpost a bit. A few more contributions from him, and I'm going to start looking like a flexible moderate. Hee hee!
