Offers I Can’t Refuse: An Obama/Clinton or Clinton/Obama Ticket?

Newt Gingrich has had lots of ideas in the past ten years. Save accusing me of being a conservative plant, or a fickle Democrat. I'm not a black woman running for a white office. I am not a well-educated, middle-aged white woman running for an all-male boy's club. I am an Independent and not above mentioning or praising a right winger. Besides, Newt has changed and one idea we had in common and came up with independently of each other is now being touted by just about everyone else: an Obama/Clinton or Clinton/Obama ticket.

While it hurts my fingers to type both names together, I can’t disown this blimp. I have been saying it since about September, a couple of months longer than Newt. The only reason I didn't think or write it earlier was because I was not a believer in Obamamania back then. Even though I was unconvinced about Barack's chances, I never doubted he (as a "young" "articulate" black man) had a target on his back. Long before Bill started his takedown of Barack, I thought that - no, I knew that - sparks would fly between the two, but hoped wistfully they would kiss and make up. I believe it will happen. And strangely enough I predicted that Bill, in his infinite political wisdom, would see to it that Barack was on the ticket if Clinton should be the nominee. Don’t ask me to go through all my articles to find that quote. Trust me, I said it.

But that being said, I now wonder about my own feelings. My feelings are getting mired in the mudslinging. I mean, even if there was a reconnoitering of this couple, and the divorce was called off — I don’t know if I will recover (or find) enough respect for the esteemed Clintons to vote for that ticket.

Donning my best politico face and setting prejudice aside, I do believe that this would be an unbeatable ticket. Unbeatable regardless of who was on top. However — and Bill should take this as a strategically political threat — he had better watch his wife’s butt. Why? Because if Barack is not on the ticket, then surely all bets are off with black people voting for Billary. I believe en masse black votes for sole survivor Hillary Clinton would be racial suicide. Have I gone too far? I don’t think I’ve gone far enough.

Instead of candidate Hillary Clinton it would be the spoils of a hollow victory.

I doubt she would take second spot on the ticket--being subordinate isn't her strong suit--but stranger things have happened in politics.

Such a diverse ticket would probably generate a lot of votes from Democrats and Independents, women, minorities, and urban voters...but Democrats are often very good at finding ways to defeat themselves. Could the two of them really put aside egos and different worldviews long enough to cooperate and campaign convincingly, as Kennedy and Johnson did?

The Clintons will stop at nothing to win it. They know that this is Hillary's one and only chance. If she loses in 2008 she will never be president. Obama on the other hand can lose and possibly live to fight another day.

I don't understand why so many people support these two when they have proven time and time again that they will do anything to get power. They will destroy the lives of anyone who gets in thier way without a seconds thought. Quite frankly....they're sociopaths.

If the Dems do go with Hillary over Obama I wonder if Obama would have any self respect and turn down their offer to be VP. If Obama did accept thier offer after months of their smearing him with the most vile and viscious indirect racial politics then I don't see how anyone could ever again say that Obama stands for anything.

If Hillary does win the nomination, which I believe she will, I believe all of the hatred of the Clintons for the past 20 years will come boiling up like never before and this time the stuff that's brought up about these two sociopaths will finally stick and the GOP candidate, whomever it is, will win.

Can you believe it? My relatives have come out for Obama big time. I am really not surprised. And those (so-called) spiritual people who turned their backs on me and said that the "regular" people would never respond to my message--WRONG. And to those who said that I didn't know Jack, think again. I am Jack, so I must know him pretty well--LOL!

All kidding aside, not kidding really, the Kennedys, my Kennedys, have come through. Brother Ted and sister Caroline, Oprah, and shockers: Maria Shriver!!

Caroline even trotted out my old videos and made a fab ad for Obama. I hate it when my hair blows in the wind. But these endorsements are no blowing in the wind. Obama is "The One."

Sorry, I missed the radio show because Thursday is my late night at work.

I write it, they repeat it: My headline was the final question of the debate: Obama Clinton ticket. And he put Obama's name first, jsut as I did. I did not call it a dream ticket for obvious reasons.

PS: Will the super delegates keep Hillary off the ticket? That's a thought.
