On DNC Chair Howard Dean

I say let the guy keep right on talking. Allow him please, to open mouth and deftly insert foot.

When his fellow Democrats get creamed at the ballot box due to this Moonbat's anti-American ravings maybe they'll do something about him.

HOWARD'S END

"Democrats are quickly dividing into two parties: those who support DNC Chairman Howard Dean and those who think he represents a rhetorical loose cannon that could blow his fellow Democrats up. The ranks of the second group swelled this week after Mr. Dean told a Texas radio station: 'The idea that we're going to win the war in Iraq is an idea which is just plain wrong.' . . . The real question some Democrats are asking is how long Mr. Dean should be allowed to speak for the party, when it appears he's capable of saying just about anything out there on the hustings."

Congrats Rush Limbaugh

Used to be only third world countries threw political opponents in jail. What with this lame Plame nonsense, the Tom Delay bogus indictments, and now Rush Limbaugh, all of these investigations leading nowhere, it seems a new American tactic by the Moonbats to rid this country of those who would oppose them.

Thomas Lifson of The American Spectator sums it up nicely.

The Wisdom and Sarcasm of the Blogosphere

Heh.

Unattributed.

Throughout the last 22 months there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theater of operations, and a total of 2,112 deaths. That gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000.

The firearm death rate in Washington, D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000.

That means that you are about 25% more likely to be shot and killed in our nation's Capitol, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation, than you are in Iraq.

Conclusion: We should immediately pull out of Washington, D.C.

More Wal-Mart Nonsense
I live about a hundred miles from Maryland. Once I actually lived there.

Driving home one day I hear a commercial about the Maryland law that would force Wal-Mart to pay health insurance benefits to all of its employees, including those that are part-time. Actually the proposed law would affect only employers with over 100,000 employees. Guess the only company in Maryland with that many employees?

    Patricia,

I really enjoy reading your N/Q posts. I do have to make a few comments:

    1) Rush is in the same boat as Clinton. Whitewater appeared to be a witch hunt leading to a dead end. I think the trumped up charges work both ways.

    2) "Do we really want the government, state or otherwise, to dictate how companies should pay their employees?" Unfortunately the government has its hand in many employment policies. Overtime, Americans with Disabilities Act, FLSA, and my favorite, OSHA. Not to mention restricting 401k contributions.

Well Maurice, I disagree about that comparison of Limbaugh to Clinton. Although I understand your contention.

Clinton was being investigated for White Water investments. Monica was blip along the way. Perhaps at that point it became a bit of a witch hunt, a big tado about nothing. Though hey, couldn't Clinton have had enough class NOT to do that in the Oval Office? Maybe he shouldn't have been impeached over it (although the impeachment was over lying to a Grand jury, something they're beating up on Libby over I might remind) but I reserve forever right to disdain him for his lack of class.

As for you point about the OT...OSHA...dang you're right again. And here I've been doing payroll all my life and bitch all the time about the things the government makes companies do.

I'd argue again that this Walmart thing is directed, at least in the case of Maryland, at ONE specific company. But hey, those things you listed, right on. Government has no business with it's damn nose in those things either.

I agree with you about OSHA by the way. Overtime? Right again. There are laws forcing the payment and it's an issue.

    Take care and Merry Christmas.

I heartily agree with your contention that Walmart is being unfairly targeted. I am only making the observation that we have allowed government control of other areas of industry. It is similar to the idea of eminent domain. We allow ED because in certain cases it makes sense, highways needed for growth being a valid reason. Unfortunately now ED is being abused to increase local taxes.

As far as Clinton. The investigation into WW seemed like it was going nowhere after the first year. I predict the same result for Rush.

Merry Christmas and keep up the good work!

One main difference between WW and Rush is that there was millions of dollars spent investigating WW and they were unable to prosecute. Rush's maid came forward with audio evidence. He is a fat, lying, druggy. Clinton is just a fat liar.

    WHAT?

There are many differences - I was trying to point out the similarities since I believe both sides are guilty of trying to poisen the well.
