A crazed Obama fan took a knife to the face of a 20-year-old McCain campaign worker in a politically motivated attack Wednesday.
In an incident which seems like it epitomizes much of the anger and bitterness of this election season, a McCain campaign worker from College Station, Texas who was in Pittsburgh helping to work a phone bank was robbed and then attacked, brutalized, and disfigured in what appears to be a politically motivated hate crime.…

Funny retort, Jet.
Props.

Marthe, thank you very much for your comments. They have been copied (with two spelling errors corrected) to the Desicritics article I linked you to.
This is what I wrote in addition:
Presently, I'm doing post editing work on a manuscript that outlines the legal rights of the Jewish People to the entire corpus of Mandate Palestine as established by the High Contracting Powers (the UK, France, Italy and Japan) in San Remo Convention in in April, 1920. Their right to do so emanated from the fact that these countries defeated the Ottoman Empire, from which these territories were taken, i.e. the right of conquest.
I cannot presently go into further detail and will not be engaged in further discussion on the topic. When the book is brought to light, however, there will be a book review published at Blogcritics, which will also be copied to my own blog-site, Ruvy's Roost.
Again, thank you.

Think nothing of it, Ruvy.
I think I may have just a teeny little issue with spelling pedants.
It probably comes from being forced to represent my high school in the state spelling bee in 1962--despite my tennis coach going ballistic about his first singles player having to miss 2 matches because of it.
Boring.
I hated it.
Came in 9th or something, and took my prize money down to the most expensive department store--must have been I Magnin's--and bought a huge killer hat.
I threw away the other part of the prize--a Webster's New Collegiate dictionary.
Then I went out drinking all night with some buddies.

"Their right to do so emanated from the fact that these countries defeated the Ottoman Empire, from which these territories were taken, i.e. the right of conquest."
So it all boils down to the spoils of centuries of imperial plunder? And that's supposed to sound better than basing claims on a God that speaks from behind the curtain?

It's not my book, Les. I didn't write it. I don't have the ability to put together a legal brief like this. I'm just doint the post editing, not even the editing!
As to the argument itself, when talking to folks like Dave Nalle, Dan Miller or Clavos, it helps to have a solid legal theory that does not depend on Divine Providence. And the theory espoused here does not.
Finally, I'm not ablsolutely sure that the High Contracting Powers viewed their actions as plunder in 1920, but you can be sure that plunder was never far from their minds.

Marthe, I could have never done that. I collect dictionaries, especially of foreign languages. I have 3 twenty pounders of the English language, unabridged all of them, and each one has contributed in one way or another to my understanding of languages. They've also contributed to my killer scores at Scrabble....
I never had trouble spelling, but I have always been a lousy typist. When I took it in 7th grade (or was it 9th?) I got a "C".

When you live out of suitcases, as I do, big heavy books are not part of your lifestyle.

Where's the article about the skinheads plotting to kill Obama and over 100 black people, or is there a concern it will point out the fanaticism of McCain supporters?
285 - Ruvy
This article talks about the real thing Somewhere in Ohio (anywhere near Columbus?), a kid got shot by a man trying to stop him from, messing with his McCain lawn sign.
286 - Dave Nalle
EB is this a new plot or is this the same one from the attempt in Denver? As far as I know the Aryan Brotherhood is still offering a cash bounty to whoever kills Obama, but they have absolutely nothing to do with the GOP or the McCain campaign. They don't even support McCain - most of them were for Ron Paul.

Somehow, given his record on immigration, I doubt that those two skinheads were McCain supporters, El B.
I dunno about an article, but if there is one I think Dave should be discouraged from writing it. He'd undoubtedly manage to spin the story to put the blame on Obama and the Democrats.
288 - Dave Nalle
Ok, I found it. It's pathetic. Why would anyone write an article on it? They didn't even get as far as acquiring the guns they wanted to use in their attack. Their crime seems to consist of a discussion.

Where indeed, el bicho?
Why don't you write one?
Obviously no one else, Democrat or Republican, was interested in doing so.

since when did you have to prove an assailant supported the candidate?

El Bicho,
"Get over it, your whining makes you look like children"
And what does your whining two days after the fact about the whining combined with your need to make a point about Dave lumping all Obama supporters in with an alleged criminal that had been stated multiple times look like?
Take your untimely narcissism off troll's bridge..
Assuming I am reading this correctly..
1) I don't have time to come here every day as much as I would like to.
2) My two points about Dave being biased and the excessive whining are consistent with each other. I said he's biased, not that he's a bad person, bad editor, should be fired etc. etc. etc. Nor does his bias invalidate his political ideology. It makes him human. The two positions are not mutually exclusive.
He obviously didn't do a great job containing his bias here as his zealousness led him to associate the (false) actions of one Obama person with all Obama supporters.
I just don't see what's to be gained by condemning him for his bias. It doesn't invalidate his political ideology. In fact, if anything, it invalidates yours because if makes it seem like you can't disprove his positions by argumentation and that you have to resort to character attacks.
So yes, I would like to point out to Dave how his biases led him to write this article, but I would also like everyone else to stop condemning him for doing so. I think Dave has realized how his biases led him to make some false assumptions about this incident and his second article is much better.
And I don't know if it's been pointed out yet but I heard on CNN today while at work that a McCain supporter shot his rifle at some kids defacing his McCain-Palin sign. Just some fun trivia..
