'Ma Barker' Bush; Let Them Eat Cake

When your approval ratings are making record lows, and entertainers are going on nation television saying you hate black people, who do you call? Your dear old mother, of course. The mother of the Bush crime family, Barbara Bush, paid a visit to the Houston Astrodome on Monday and showed just how much they really do care about black people. Now I'm not much for criticizing non-elected officials, especially their mothers, but this bitch has it coming.

While looking over the thousands of families and children now without homes, she spewed out this quote, "Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this, this is working very well for them." Later on, Ma Barker-Bush can be heard laughing as she sees just how very well things are going for families that have lost their homes, pets, and loved ones. Afterwards, she and George went back to their lush multi-million dollar Houston home and enjoyed cake. (I made the cake part up, but is it really that hard to imagine?)

So this is what being a "compassionate conservative" is all about. Calling tax paying Americans "refugees" (or at least the ones that hadn't died from dehydration or starvation before you decided to actually do something), some of whom you have no problem sending their kids off to a war you have no reason for but oil and money for your real friends, storing them like cattle under armed military guard and then saying this is all working very well for them. Watch out G.O.P., here I come to sign up for this program. I guess the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. In a random thought, what if both Clinton and George H.W. Bush had both kept it in their pants?

The people in the Astrodome are being fed and everything, but the place is crowded and they don't have privacy. I'm sure Barbara would not want to stay there overnight.

Were you born evil with a tiny, black cinder instead of a heart, or did you become corrupted over the years sort of like Gollum to become the evil, twisted ball of hate which you are today, John?

Barbara Bush's remarks which you take out of context were also about how being in Texas offered opportunities to these exacuees they didn't have in New Orleans plus a favorable comment on the quality of suppor they're getting at the Astrodome.

But spin on, spiderlike minion of darkness.

Gollum's more toadlike than spiderlike. It's important to keep our imagery of evil from getting too confused.

Well make it Shelob then, she was even more twisted by evil than Gollum.

I do wonder what some of these hate-filled extremist bloggers on both sides look like. Sometimes I take a romantic view of the world and imagine them hunched over their computers with outward forms that mirror their inward souls, covered in scabs and boils, eating rat legs and scooping the brains from the heads of still living puppies as a side-dish.

Well, Gollum is a well-chosen image here, because he became evil through his own choice.

    Shelob was made that way.

Toadlike is an apt image for hateful people, because they want to be scary and dangerous but in the end most of them are just sort of sad, icky, and pathetic.

What exactly would a Bush have to do to win with your approval, John? Would a simple suicide be sufficient to make up for her heinous crime of being wife and mother of Republican presidents? Perhaps a period of sackcloth and ashes and rending of hair first?

Victor, I think toads are kind of cute. Perhaps a jackal or a tapeworm would be a more apt comparison.

Barbara Bush: Things Working Out 'Very Well' for Poor Evacuees from New Orleans

    By E&P Staff

Published: September 05, 2005 7:25 PM ET updated 8:00 PM

NEW YORK Accompanying her husband, former President George
H.W.Bush, on a tour of hurricane relief centers in
Houston, Barbara Bush said today, referring to the
poor who had lost everything back home and evacuated, "This is working very well for them."

The former First Lady's remarks were aired this
evening on American Public Media's "Marketplace"
    program.

She was part of a group in Houston today at the
Astrodome that included her husband and former
President Bill Clinton, who were chosen by her son,
the current president, to head fundraising efforts for
the recovery. Sen. Hilary Clinton and Sen. Barack
    Obama were also present.

In a segment at the top of the show on the surge of
evacuees to the Texas city, Barbara Bush said: "Almost
everyone I’ve talked to says we're going to move to
    Houston."

Then she added: "What I’m hearing which is sort of
scary is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is
    so overwhelmed by the hospitality.

"And so many of the people in the arena here, you
know, were underprivileged anyway, so this--this (she
chuckles slightly) is working very well for them."

Offered "opportunities"? To lose their family members, pets, homes possessions, support systems, and move in tens of thousands to a city in another state to sleep on a cot? Would you or Barbara Bush like to have such an "opportunity"?

I hope that they do make a success in Houston and I applaud the people of Texas for their generosity, but this is a heartless statement by Barbara Bush.

Perhaps Dave simply never read the full quote and is so in denial about exactly how callous the Bushes can be that he simply assumed this was out of context. I often think that if G W Bush were shown on television eating a live baby there would be 10,000 right-wing bloggers explaining it away.

Or perhaps he himself is so callous that he really is thinking, gee, I bet it really will be great for these poor people to get a chance to move to Texas and start over.

Perhaps this is the only way Barbara can conceive of life getting better for poor people. Certainly it hasn't occurred to any of the Bush's that assisting poor people to have better lives in their native cities might be a good idea.

Somehow I'm not surprised at her comments. Remember she's an old white lady who has had everything handed to her all her life. She probably believes that anybody who is a minority is either an indigent or sells drugs. It's amazing to know that there's lots of people who think like her.

Even after I heard Barbara's comments aired over fox news tonight. I just had to come on-line to see if it was true or false. Unfortunately it was true and in context. I suppose if I lost my home due to a broken levee that could have been fixed with the money spent to Irag, Barbara would have a called me underprivledge as well. Why? because I am an african american. Barbara would be surprised to know I am a single mom, master's degree and making well, +80,000/yr. go figure-- so to Barb!! @###!

well I was thinking more along the lines of ted kennedy getting away with murder...thats all.

It has appeared to manifest in his belly, actually.

When caught in flagrante, conservatives are now illogically accusing the left of "attacking" them, and bringing up misdeeds by their opponents.

Sorry, this is a big one. It's serious. No sale on the coverup.

    >>Perhaps Dave simply never read the full quote and is so in denial about exactly how callous the Bushes can be that he simply assumed this was out of context.<<

Actually, I went and found the full quote once I saw it here so I knew what I was talking about. She's clearly having her words spun to serve a political agenda.

    >>Or perhaps he himself is so callous that he really is thinking, gee, I bet it really will be great for these poor people to get a chance to move to Texas and start over. <<

I admit to being a realist. Getting these people out from under the oppressive thumb of Louisiana democratic politicians is probably the best thing that could be done for them in the long run.

It's really bizarre - but on our local news today they had interviews with people who've been evacuated to here in Austin, and they're out looking for apartments and jobs already and basically jumping for joy to have an opportunity not to go back to New Orleans. You have to admire them, really.

    >>Perhaps this is the only way Barbara can conceive of life getting better for poor people. Certainly it hasn't occurred to any of the Bush's that assisting poor people to have better lives in their native cities might be a good idea.<<

I'd be interested to hear what Bush could do to help them out back in New Orleans with the state and local government absolutely dedicated to keeping them in eternal political thrall - poor, ignorant and democrat until they die.
