London Terrorists: Do they have the right Suspects?

It was a humiliating end for the London terrorist suspects. Would-be martyrs becoming humiliated flashers paraded in all their glory for the whole world to see.

So much for going out of this world in a blaze of glory to meet Allah.

Question: If they are really hard-core terrorists, why didn't they just blow themselves up or go out in a hail of bullets?

if (preg_match('/]+)?>/', '') { echo '
' } else { echo '"Mohammed! Take your clothes off! Come out with your hands on your head!" neighbors quoted police shouting to one suspect.

'; }

"I have rights!" the man screamed back.

Later, neighbors said, the man protested that he was scared to come out in his underwear. "How do I know you're not going to shoot me?" he asked in a voice that one neighbor said sounded petrified and as if he were fighting tears."

Could it be that life is really more precious to them than we are told? Or perhaps there is no mold for the terrorist that we can conveniently characterize? Or is it possible they may have apprehended the wrong people?

Knowing how governments will go to great lengths to quell mass hysteria and keep business as usual, I suppose anything is possible. More fodder for thought.

No matter how you look at it, it certainly doesn't fit the demonic profile that we are fed in the local news channel...that all terrorists are mad jihad killing automatons eager to move on to the next world.

Was this a public relations coo de'tat for the British government, or did they jump the gun and arrest the wrong people? Or is the face of terrorism much more complex than we initially thought?

    Well, some of these Muslim lunatics seem eager for suicidal jihad. And others would rather live to fight another day.

    IIRC, these clowns weren't to be suicide bombers. Instead, they dropped off their deadly packages and then went elsewhere.

    So, I guess these guys are the less-fanatical breed of Muslim terrorist.

    I believe the word we're looking for here is 'dupes'. But still reprehensible.

    Wimpy terrorists, Jihad Posers or just brown colored "dupes" conveniently in the right place at the right time.

    Your choice.

    They're clearly the right guys they've got, you can tell just by comparing the photos of them with CCTV pictures.

    "No matter how you look at it, it certainly doesn't fit the demonic profile that we are fed in the local news channel...that all terrorists are mad jihad killing automatons eager to move on to the next world."

    Our news channels over here, in London, don't try and portray the bombers as anything yet as we don't currently know much about them. I assume your writing about US local news channels and it sounds like they're jumping the gun in profiling the terrorists.

    Sounds like your surprised that the British Government have caught the bombers so quickly and efficiently, and that we havn't pointed the finger at a middle-eastern country and started bombing them.

    Well suppose each country has its own wat in dealing with crisis.

    Jo - What is the purpose of assigning a color to these guys? Would it make any difference at all if they were Nordic in appearance?

    Try and move past using skin color as a descriptor, for everyone's sake.

    Thanks.

    Dearest Bennett:

    I was merely pointing out the possibilities. You can read what you want into it. Heh, now that MD is gone somebody has to set the bar around here.

    As those who have been in combat know -- when the order is given to move out into a line of fire -- men move out into what can be certain death -- but when surrounded by overwhelming enemy forces -- these same men will put up their hands and meekly surrender.
