London Attacked Again | Weary & Wary

London terror alerts

My London is weary and wary; it has been exactly two weeks since the last terror attack on July 7th.

Today, four detonating devices went off but the bombs attached made with a chemical compound did not go off though authorities do not yet know why: a nail bomb may have exploded at Warren Street road and station near Tottenham Court Road (just around the corner from where I used to live as a sideline). Another bomb is suspected to have been on a bus again, though this didn’t detonate and people smelled the burning but did not hear much, save for a few witnesses who describe a sound (noted below). The bombs were also made of a sort of acetone and peroxide mix that is highly explosive (obviously, this is more complex than this and I would not print the formula even if I did know it for obvious reasons: why give people information like this.,

Witnesses were not injured as of this report, save for one who may have been involved in the bombings and is now at a local area hospital at nearby Warren Street. Police have entered guns drawn and are assuming this person, if indeed it is he, is armed and dangerous and have cordoned off the entire area. The hospital is directly opposite the tube station entrance.

Passengers’ report seeing someone approach the train as it was stopped (doors presumably open) in the station, who threw a backpack (rucksack) onto the train and then ran away, say eyewitnesses. The person then made their way out of the platform.

Warren Street is only one stop away from the Kings’ cross station where there were the largest numbers of causalities in the previous bombings.

This incident was a similar type of incident in terms of it’s targets the timing, although later in the day (between 12:20 and 12:45) (the previous attacks occurred in the morning hours), the attacks were designed to cause maximum damage and human casualties again, though again, this time the bombs were not as large and did not seem to go off as planned by the bombers or were perhaps a warning. At this time, it is difficult to say which the proper answer is.

The other bombs were at the following stations (again, source is Channel 7).

Hackney Road
Shepherd’s Bush
The Oval - where it is reported a double decker bus was attacked.
and of course Warren Street.

The Warren Street station had an eyewitness who said the same thing and this is where the local hospital is and where police have entered in search of this person. You could smell smoke and a sound that sounded like “champagne corks popping” or fireworks. Witnesses report, whichever the cause being able to smell something; burning rubbery smell. Investigators have so far said that these may have been nail bomb explosives I (which are designed to cause maximum damage).
