(Satirical Review) Scott Ott, over at ScrappleFace once again out does himself in the following snippet where he brings out the best in his satrical reporting skills. Hope some folks here can at least step back and take this in without starting another mud slinging contest.
Lack of Bush Eloquence Imperils Hurricane Victims
by Scott Ott(Biloxi)(2005-09-01) — Fears increased today among hundreds of thousands of refugees from the hurricane-ravaged gulf coast as they faced a Labor Day weekend with little hope of an eloquent speech from President George Bush.
As today's New York Times editorial indicated, the president 'gave one of the worst speeches of his life yesterday, especially given the level of national distress and the need for words of consolation and wisdom'.
Instead, the president devoted his first major post-Katrina address to laying out what the federal government is actually doing to help with disaster recovery.
One New Orleans man, currently living in the 'Plaza End Zone' section of the Superdome as he awaits news of his missing family members, said, 'I can survive for some time with little water, no food and highly unsanitary conditions...but if I don't hear some poetic words of comfort and stirring verbal imagery from the president pretty soon, I'm a goner.'
A White House spokesman said additional speech writers have been flown in to accelerate completion of 'a magnificent, almost-Clintonesque display of rhetorical compassion.' However, it could take up to a week of pronunciation rehearsal before the president is ready to deliver the speech to the nation." — Scott Ott / ScrappleFace
Ok...a submission of blogcriticing just for the sake of balance and to get some folks at this site to lighten up. ScrappleFace may lean a bit to the right, but Scott, like may satirists, are know to step back from all the mindless political nonsense and inject some introspective humor into the political cesspool on occasion.
We try for some balance and humor at ZZ N&S as well... it allows one to take the blinders off and take more of a Zen and centrist approach to life :) The problems on this planet are really inconsequential in the scheme of things...

Yeah. If only Bush had given a REALLY good speech, the wonderful folks over at the New York Times would be praising him, and the victims of the hurricane would all be resting well...

Bush is a racist, murdering idiot who caused all the death in hurricane Katrina. There was already plenty of money to rebuild the levees until he stole it to give to Dick Cheney and the rest of his crew. Republicans have forced all the blacks into poor inner city slums like Loisiana. They let them die so there would be less to vote Democratic.
Warning, if you live in Democratic voting area the next republican disaster could be heading your way.

Bush chooses to ignore that carbon
pollution from coal production &
other sources : Global Warming, DOES
elevate the sea temperature, which
lead to the far worsening of storms
& hurricanes, hence the devastation of
Hurricane Katrine;
alot of people that
voted for Bush and probably Bush
himself; believe that 'God' caused
the Hurricane because New Orleans has
Gays & unmarried people that have sex
('sinners') Just like Bushs' religious
cronie that said Gays caused 911,;
Because many in the Bush government
actually BELIEVE this Evangalist,
Christian Zionist superstitious CRAP
the Bush Administration ignored
the danger and polluted enough
to raise the ocean temperature;

I live in New Orleans. Yes, there are gays and sinners. But if we were all puritans... would that be fun? If we didn't throw a few trinkets, have alcohol consumption by minors, and some nudity legally once every year... then why even bother having a free nation. My city was devastated, friends and family members are now gone forever, and the only thing that is preparing me for the next hurricane season is my FEMA trailer raised 3 feet. I can accept that. But updates, aid, and... yes... humor still needs to come our way!
