Kanye West and the GOP's Anti-Minority Trifecta

Alphaliberal.comKanye West recently chastized George Bush for not “caring about black people” because of his pathetic response to the largest natural disaster this country has ever seen. With heightened scrutiny on racial issues, you would think the Republican Party would have been very careful about what they said in public --so as not to exacerbate the already tense relationship they have with minorities.

Instead, Republicans were all over the map, making one outlandish comment after another, revealing the true nature of their character --something not easily undone by the spinning of Karl Rove.

First, Republican House speaker Dennis Hastert essentially told New Orleans to drop dead, saying rebuilding hurricane-ravaged city "doesn't make sense to me." One has to wonder did he mean the rich, white suburbs or the predominantly black slums? What business does he have telling a city, two-thirds of which is minority, that their lives, their homes, their businesses, and their places of worship are not worth the time and effort of the Federal Government? How insensitive to the poor and the black can one be to even consider abandoning one of the most well-known American cities, which has existed for over two centuries?

Hastert was quickly outdone by none other than the mother of the Bush-clan, Barbara Bush. She had recently surveyed the mostly poor, black victims, who lacked the resources to avoid the catastrophe her son, George W. Bush, (through his negligence and indifference), allowed to happen. These victims found themselves crowded like cattle into the Astrodome, in conditions reminiscent of a concentration camp in Nazi Germany. Ms. Bush, after viewing these people’s tragedy, was quoted as saying:

"Almost everyone I've talked to says we're going to move to Houston. What I'm hearing which is sort of scary is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this—this (she chuckles slightly) is working very well for them." [emphasis added]

Was she serious or was this a slip of the tongue? If she is serious she must have a very low opinion of poor minorities in America to believe losing your home, the lives of your friends and relatives, your job, your peace, and your security was in some way “working out well.”

Next came House majority leader and paragon of minority outreach Tom Delay. Just two days ago, the PAC he founded was criminally indicted in Texas, yet he was allowed to tour the Astrodome on a feel-good, PR campaign. Delay was not even asked by the bullied and compliant media to resign, confess and turn himself in, or even what actions he will take now that his committee is alleged in court to have committed political crimes. This alleged criminal stepped to where evacuated refugees were playing, and one blog reported that DeLay "likened their stay to being at camp and asked, 'Now, tell me the truth, boys, is this kind of fun?' " The youngsters "nodded yes, but looked perplexed."

O.k. this is the last time I want to hear the Republicans called racist. Read this you liberal pigs:

The strategy of the Democrat party is to give the poor minorities enough to make them able to eat (welfare) but not to give them enough to rise out of poverty. This is because as long as they are in poverty they will need the Democratic Party and continue to vote for them.

This is also the same strategy that Mao, Lenin, Castro and Chavez have used to gain complete control over their governments. They got support of the poor majority and got the power which led to burning the constitution and all of the people's rights. The poor stayed poor, but the rich also became poor and the government became amazingly rich.

Now the only thing that seperates the dems and the commies are that in commie countries the poor were the majority. Now all that we need here is a few million people to become poor and the democrats can take the entire Senate, Supreme Court, Presidency, Governorships and Mayorships which would eventually lead to a single party state (Communism) and eventually lead to no more elections.

there you go again. freeper cut and paste job.

look i dont want to hear that any more republicans are going to run for office anymore because of this disgrace. but do you think it is going to happen.

do you think the 200 million or so people that agree with K West are just going to pipe down b/c it makes you uncomfortable?

i have a solution. republicans can stop being racists. then they will be not called racists.

"do you think the 200 million or so people that agree with K West"

Oh my God, you think 200 million people agree with Kanye??? Get your facts straight, an ABC (liberal) poll even claimed that only 13% of America's 300 million people agree with Kanye. [edited]

It does make me unconfortable that even 13% agree with him. It makes me and should make you unconfortable that the democRats are olny getting elected because they keep poor people poor and blame it on DemocRats.

I'm white, I agree w/ West and this post 100%. I think a lot of this nation is in denial about the level of racism that exists, towards african americans in particular. I encounter so many "closet" racists on a daily basis; they consider themselves not to be so, but then they lock their car doors when they see a black person, or follow black people around a store when there are 10 other white people shopping. People think all you need to do to not be racist is refrain from using the N word. Otherwise, anything goes.

DAve, you are part three of the democratic pary. For further expanation refer to comment #4 paragraph 2.

Lmao....anyone who does not see the racism of the Bush Administration and furthermore, the Republican party is ridiculously blind. Conservatives have been not giving a shit about blacks and the poor since as long as I can remember. This is nothing new.

And how can you sit there and say that Democrats only help the poor because they want to get votes? What exactly is the Republican party doing about the poor? Please tell me that. Doing something is better that doing nothing. I'm sure you have no concept of what it feels like to know that you can't fucking eat because you have no money, or you can't take a shower and change clothes because the ones you're wearing are the only ones you have. And that's probably the case with the rest of your stupid, blind, selfish, Republican asshole friends.

"What exactly is the Republican party doing about the poor?"

What exactly is the DemocRats doing to help the poor??? The poor constantly elect democrats in their neighborhoods, cities, counties, states and country but they are STILL poor. Tell me that.

What has the democrats done for to get the poor out of Poverty??? The only thing the dems do is give them welfare so they can eat and appreciate the dems for doing so. They give them the bare minimium so they can't rise up.

Condy Rice, Colin Powell, Mel Martinez and Clarence Thomas are examples of people who rose up and they happen to be Republicans. Explain that.

You named some random black republicans....just because they're black doesn't mean they're underpriveleged or poor, [edited].

  • 12 - Anthony Grande

    Sep 10, 2005 at 7:10 pm

Clarence, Condy, Colin and Mel are all people who came from extreme povery and racism. Look them up on the internet and be inspired. Neither of them settled for welfare, they wanted to make something of themeselves and they did. I named Republicans because there are no democratic blacks and Hispanics that don't keep their people down. Mayor Nagin of N.O. is an exaple of a man who watches his people live in poverty.

Now you didn't answer my question: What have the Democrats done for the poor and minorities???

So let me get this straight, Republicans say truthful and/or trivial and harmless things and because they are talking to or about black people who are in trouble, this makes them racist? And I assume this is because Republicans aren't allowed to talk to or about ethnic minorities becuase they are owned by the democrats?

I'd rather vote for Kanye West than mufuggin Bush.

    HAHAHHAAH. Kanye West for President!

I bought Mr. West's CD the first day it came out. When I was at the NFL kickoff concert in LA where he performed-- black, white, asian, hispanic people were there for him...every culture was represented, and they all showed Kanye love--AND each other...it was a beautiful thing.

We were all there for his music, enjoying his performance and each other regardless of race.
Plus, Maroon 5 and Good Charlotte fans were also among us.

    What's my point?
At least his fans are open to one another's race and culture, his music transcends the color of skin.

    blah, blah, blah...
    some people are just ignorant.

    FREE SPEECH, haters and lovers.

Actually, the question was asked of you first and you still have not answered it either. Instead you did the duck & dodge, you're so clever.
    Typical.

What do you want the Republicans to do??? It is up to the minorities to take high school seriously, go to college and to never make up excuses like racism.

The Republicans do need to do something like what I am trying to do: Educate the masses that education is important and you need to work hard to make something of yourself.

But everytime someone tries to do this they are labelled as racist.

Starting small programs, food stamps, and welfare are all items that are designed to keep the poor people poor so they can blame the Republicans and vote for the DemocRats.

Now either Nicole or Chris answer my question that I am dying to know: What have the DemocRats done to help the poor and minorities.
