  What is there to comment on? There are about three sentences, two of which make no sense and one of which is just remarkably stupid.

  Gee, Voice. Imagine for a moment that this is Baghdad in August 2000. You write a story calling Saddam a Spaghetti Western Sheriff. Dude, you wouldn't have been alive to write the drivel above. You'd have been drawn and quartered and fed to the ravens. We're there. We own it. Now let's do something to fix it instead of whining.

  Blindingly stupid would be an apt description of the post.
  
  But there is a retort, and by a suprising source CNN.

  PIRAS ODISHO, GROOM (translator): Life must go on. There must be marriages and happiness.
  
  ECCLESTON: Marriages are up 30 percent since Saddam’s overthrow and the judge signing their wedding contract thinks he knows why.
  
  GHANI AL-ISAA, JUDGE (translator): There is an increase since the income of all sectors of Iraqi people has gone up.
  
  ECCLESTON: Measuring Iraq’s economic health is not an exact science, but those in work, like the 350 judges trained in the past two years, are better paid, thanks to U.S. subsidies.
  
  The Iraqi dinar holds its value. Gone is the rampant inflation of the ‘90’s. There are more goods in the shops, in part, thanks to low import duties and a thriving black market.
  
  It’s estimated that there’s five times more traffic on Baghdad’s roads than there was pre-war and then, there is, what some call, the freedom index. In January, nearly 60 percent of Iraqis voted, choosing from a wide variety of parties. The assembly they voted for is meeting and is beginning to frame a new constitution for Iraq and 25 Sunni delegates are participating.
  
  Internet cafes, unknown under Saddam, have sprung up in Baghdad. There are more than three million telephone subscribers, compared to fewer than a million before the war and many of them are on cell phones. Some 170 independent newspapers and magazines offer competing opinions and there are 80 commercial radio stations.
  
  Wealthier Iraqis have satellite dishes and watch channels from around the world, a luxury unthinkable three years ago. Much of the country away from the Sunni dominated north and west is not racked by sectarian violence and some 150,000 Iraqi security forces are trained, equipped, and playing a larger role in battling the insurgents.

  Iraq isn't the utopia that many would require before killing their own "Iraq is a disaster" meme, but it's a damn site better off than it was. And improving.

  Perhaps marriages are up since Uday is dead now and won't be stopping by to rape the brides anymore.
  
  As for the satellite dishes, one of the ironies is that even though electric production is up substantially in the last month, the proliferation of satellite dishes and other new electronic gadgets has reportedly increased demand by 60% over the demand before the war so now entirely new electric production plants need to be built to meet the new demand.

  If any of your family survived they'd be seeking revenge.

  Valery, please take me to your pharmacologist. The point I made about being dead in Baghdad has nothing to do with what you're saying. Sure, if I was the victim of an American cruise missle in the privacy of my home on Ali Babba Boulevard, Baghdad, my family would seek revenge. That's what it's all about. So, what am I missing here?

  The irony is the leftist appeasment monkey's all know that fact also. But it never stops them from spewing their "Bush can't improve the electricity supply" meme.

  I daresay that Pres. Bush has a much fuller picture of what is going on in Iraq than anyone on this forum, unlees you get a comprehensive a daily briefing from the CIA and the DOD as he does.

  If Uday had raped my mother and sister while security police dragged my dad away to be tortured, I'd be seeking revenge too, but not on the Americans.
