I’ll Take One Hot Palin And One Cold Piyush "Bobby" Jindal To Go... Please - Comments Page 2

Part of: Bling It On

What’s an unpopular party to do? Give a party where everyone is invited and not just the rich, the WASP, and the redneck.

You have to admit that the GOP is really the COP, comical old party. I am still laughing. Sarah Palin single-handedly put the “bet” in "you betcha." Conservatives and radio pundits in the past election cycle have deigned to give the Democrat party advice, earning my famous rejoinder “Thanks, but no thanks.” And I expect that publicly they too will reject advice from this source out of hand. But they do so at the peril of the party. So I humbly ask who better to give them advice now but Heloise the prognosticator?…

    Cool site, Dave.

Never knew MLK was a Republican.

If you were black and from the south prior to 1960 you were almost certainly a Republican.

Dave just had a funny thought: all the black people pictured on that site are now DEAD! LOL. Except for Condi Rice...that's funny.

    Heloise

BTW I know more than you think I do about the GOP. I'm from Chicago. The real reason my dad was republican? THey had the jobs to hand out if one delivered their ward for the party..that's what he told us.

I'm learning a lot about racism here. Namely, anything can be a racist term regardless of the context. Cockroaches = racist term. Roach Motel (a term my mother once used to describe a hotel we stayed in when visiting Disneyland in California where black people happen to live) = racist term.

I had no idea that my mother was so racist. I also had no idea that I was so racist, especially that time I said "Hey man, do the right thing" to a white friend of mine.

Many apologies in advance for all of the future racist terms I will undoubtedly and accidentally use throughout the remainder of my life.

What's wrong with the comments for Desicritics? They don't work for me. Here's my commment to the Obama Audacity article there...it would not post for me. Can some techie fix it?

Thanks for this insight and your honest reaction. I think people were surprised at the support from the Indian community. I for one wasn't. But then I'm Heloise the prognosticator...:)

    Heloise

Jordan, you or I am confounding things. There are black sayings or words blacks use a lot "messy" "a hot mess" they started mickey D's, and yes "do the right thing" and "bling" "hater" or "playa hata" "balla" and "diss" are all from black talk.

But roaches are endemic in the ghetto, and more blacks are ghettoized than whites. That's changing because many of the black projects in Chicago have been razed. And cockaroaches are guess what...black in color.

So, I was mixing apples and oranges in my speak. There are codes for blacks and then there are phrases or idioms that are black. Does that make sense?

    Heloise

Just do your part in the world.

And cockaroaches are guess what...black in color.

Not where I'm at. They're mostly a mid to lightish brown - and some of them are almost red.

Dave just had a funny thought: all the black people pictured on that site are now DEAD! LOL. Except for Condi Rice...that's funny.

Actually, only about half of them are dead. It's a history site. Ken Blackwell, Michael Steele, Michael Williams, Herman Kain, Thomas Sowell, etc. I imagine they'd be shocked to hear they're dead. I've talked with three of them in the last couple of months and they sure looked alive and spoke like live people.

Yang is Taiwanese. I, too, am learning a lot about racism here.

    "Does that make sense?"

No. And "Does that make sense?" is white Irish-Canadian talk. I'd appreciate you not using it to title any future books and/or Blogcritics articles.

I'll take Rufus T. Firefly, although if we are restricted to non-fictional U.S. presidents, I will have to rethink it.

Now, Jordan, I'd be unworthy of the high trust that's been placed in me if I didn't do everything in my power to keep our beloved Freedonia in peace with the world. I'd be only too happy to meet with Ambassador Trentino, and offer him on behalf of my country the right hand of good fellowship. And I feel sure he will accept this gesture in the spirit of which it is offered. But suppose he doesn't. A fine thing that'll be. I hold out my hand and he refuses to accept. That'll add a lot to my prestige, won't it? Me, the head of a country, snubbed by a foreign ambassador. Who does he think he is, that he can come here, and make a sap of me in front of all my people? Think of it - I hold out my hand and that hyena refuses to accept. Why, the cheap ball-pushing swine, he'll never get away with it I tell you, he'll never get away with it.

Dave one half what's the different. I am known for my hubris as well as hyperbole. And don't you hate : does that make sense? I know I do.

    Heloise

Hey I don't research my comments, just my articles. And anyway Taiwanese, Japanese, Chinese, Asians in general have no love lost between them and blacks. After the Arabs came into the Ghetto to exploit blacks it was then the Asians turn. Remember orientals? We can't call them that anymore.

So they no like black people and have some of the most vitriolic black products (in ads) than any group. They have even outdone the french with the huge lips painted red and the big ugly face etc.

You people need to get out more. Yang is Chinese name and he could be part Chinese even. Just cuz he's from Taiwan no mean nothing. Oh yeah and "my bad" is black.

    Heloise

Here's a new twist to "preaching to the choir" that I just came up with "preaching to the dire" the GOP that is.

Stop correcting me Jordan and Dave. You are ruining my rep for exaggeration.

Speaking of dire: the fires in CA. I hope there is some california left when I head there. I was in Ca this summer and have yet to post and download my photos. But I am headed to San Francisco/Petaluma/Berkeley next summer.

And if you are going there you better make your reserv nows. Shit is sold out in many places and flights are not cheap. I've never paid over $200-300 for flights anywhere and this time paid almost $500.00. I went to AA this time none are cheap this year.

    Hi Heloise,

You have got to be on a different plane intellectually than a lot of us. Your last article was clever, informative and provocative and the blog responses were charged but please do not degrade yourself or your readers with the profanity.

Afiya thanks but I've been blogging for over ten years and I'm afraid it comes with the turf. I'll try harder but the sailor in me means cussin. Presidents cuss people just don't hear it.

Here's an interesting quote on a blog from The Daily Beast written by a woman Merkin:

"Now that the election is over and racism is ostensibly down for the count, has sexism gotten a new dispensation? Has the "unlikability" (not to mention "unfuckability") of Hillary not only cost her the presidential nomination.."

Notice use of a made-up cuss word "unfuckability" hmmm. Heloise's take on the non-controversy of to cuss or not to cuss: Men have their guns, bullets and druggies and ex druggies had their coke, meth and heroin, and bloggers have their, well, cuss words and first amendment.

Merkin's (whoever she is) argument, which I don't agree with, that there is sexism in MSM towards women candidates. WTF? When you are out and about in the public's eye you will get criticized. I've been called everything by students and fellow bloggers. But I have a tough skin and I know that the pendulum swings in favor of white men yet and still.

Why are white women whining about the chance to compete on the world stage for the world's short political attention span?...I haven't a freakin clue. I makes me wanna cuss. I've paid my dues in the blogosphere...but still no offers or takers. I don't give a fuck bcz I have kept my day job. Thank you very much.

PS: Jackie-style capes are back...get yours Michelle Obama.

Why are people talking up Jindal for 2012? American doesn't need another muslim in the white house who says he's a Christian. Louisiana has to release his birth certificate first!
