Florida's GOP finishes strong, but loses two critical races

Florida Republican Attorney General Charlie Crist swept to an easy victory Tuesday with a margin of 52% to 45% over Democratic candidate Jim Davis. Crist was never behind during the evening as statewide precincts reported their results, and Davis conceded relatively early in the evening.…

You're most welcome Clavos. thanks for asking. Ohio State has given up on the lasers after the 10th surgeries saying any more would be more harm than good. With my eyes fading, they're now talking experimental drugs just approved by the FDA.

I also have an appointment with a Psychiatrist to get my depression drugs changed as Cymbalta is now causing quick tempers and paranoia. I really hate that I can't have my old life back and my art career, and can't stop reaching toward the past thinking I have no future.

    Now...
    About satires.

Write them as serious news articles. NEVER set out to tell a joke, tell a story. People laugh more at something that strikes them as familiar that they may have done themselves, or something they recognize that they might have done in the subject's same circumstances.

Trust me, satire is a tough art.
My fovorite one is still the Blogcritics Blimp crash causing Jerry Falwell to have a heart attack as it destroys his entire church. Use that as a model and you'll see what I mean, but it has to "feel" real like a good ghost story that you laugh at that you fell for, or a good Bill Cosby album.

Don't let the flops get to you, sometimes I think I've written 65 of them, but it's just writer's insecurity.

As a new one, you'll go through that.

    Love
    Jet

I'm sorry to hear that, Jet. I hope the drugs work.

My wife took Cymbalta for a while when she became paralyzed. She never felt it did anything for her, but I don't think she had any ill effects from it.

Oh, damn. Really sorry to hear about that. My eyes are pretty bad too, but I don't exactly want to get into some sort of pissing contest about whose eyesight is worse. ;)

What is the diagnosis? Wet macular degeneration? Glaucoma?

    Take care! :)

R.J. it's due to the diabetes. Even though my sugar is under control now, my brain is still convinced my eyes are starving from sugar clogged blood vessles and won't stop growing new capularies in places in direct line over where the light passes through my eyes.

The problem now is the cauterized blood vessles are leaking fluids into my eyes causing painful swelling and solids from my bloodstream in the form of coagulated fat particles which are settling in the direct middle of my eyes and take months to disolve.

Ohio state has been literally punching holes in the back of my eyes with lasers trying to relieve the pressure with little success and I suffer from headaches constantly. I can't be drugged during the operation because I have to hold my eye still during it.

Since the pressure varies, I can't get a new pair of glasses because the swelling keeps changing the shape of my lenses.

I'm terrified of going blind, and I'm going broke-hence the anti depressants. Unfortunately I've been on Cymbalta for two years and I'm developing a resistance to it.

Like a junkie I need something stronger.

I can see for hours at a time, or I can see for a stretch of 10 minutes at a time.

    IT sucks.

My frustrations come out by taking it out on the people that care about me, and it hurts like hell after I've done it.

I have nearly no friends left.

I'm really sorry, man. I can only imagine the frustration you must be feeling. Frustration is the emotion that occurs when someone is angry/upset over something s/he cannot control. Lack of control is an awful feeling. And unfortunately that emotion often leads to behaviors that can alienate others, even allies...which then leads to further frustration. It's a vicious cycle.

FWIW, diabetes runs on both sides of my family. It's an awful disease, and the number of people suffering from it continues to grow each year.

I wish you the best, man. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm gonna stop busting your balls on occasion. ;-)

"Unfortunately I've been on Cymbalta for two years and I'm developing a resistance to it."

Switch to Paxil. That's also an SSRI. And I hear it can be a real brain-buster...but in a good way! :-)

Unfortunately diabetics are prone to false pains that only Cymbalta is designed for. Before I went on it I'd waki up thinking my foot was in a pan of scalding hot water or someone had just driven a nail into my shin.

Cymbalta calms those but i'm already on the maximum dose to the point where I have to take monthly tests for liver damage.

Let's change the subject or I'll need another one.

"I got cousins in Meritt Island"

    Three things -

1 - They have a pretty decent mall

2 - They have a really awesome National Wildlife Refuge

3 - They have some truly disgusting ghettos, if you look in the places that aren't near the beach
