Mel Gibson behaved disgracefully... the Anti-Defamation League made it worse.
Mel Gibson's drunken rants are disgraceful and there is no defending them. In fact, Mel Gibson himself doesn't defend them and claims they are not only disgraceful but that they disgrace his family. In a world where public figures hardly utter the words "I'm sorry" and issue non-apology apologies, one would think people would have been satisfied with not only an apology, but a healthy self-indictment for a very bad episode.…

How much of the vitriol directed against Gibson is the result of Hollywood not profiting from a movie on which they could have made big bucks?
27 - RedTard
"Re(d)Tard is back and still filled with hate. You have used, of all the symbols of intolerance in recent history, The Protocols of Zion."
Thanks Howie, clever with the play on my name. First of all I have no idea or desire to know the Protocols of Zion, whatever that may be. Nice play on my name, did you come up with that all by yourself?
Otherwise, pointing out that the feminine, pampered world that western civilization has become bends over too much for anyone that claims victimhood is not exactly hate so much.
Thanks for playing the role of the PC police though. Throwing out accusations of hate and bigotry is a fine debating tactic for the small minded.

Just because of the irrational over-reaction to Mel Gibson's drunken comments, I intend to see his next (last?) movie. Twice.

What I don't understand is why a nation as strong as the Jews can't just get over a single incident involving such a cretin as Gibson.
Because its big business for the Jews..think of all the businesses (non-profits and profits) cahsing in on this victim mentality....from lobbyiest to speilbergs (shouldnt he be ashamed for cashing in on the death of millions?)
This allows special treatment from lobbying to preferred immigration status in the US...if you either say you believe in Jesus or disagree with Israele policies you are a immediately branded an anto semite...
The ADL is no difference that the rest of the race baiter AKA Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc...its a phone organization looking under rocks to blame someone for being an antisemite...
Heres the irony with Mel Gibson...hollywood will not shun him...he is a money maker in Hollywood...and we all know that even the Jewish Hollywood execs will ignore their religion to make a couple of millions on a Gibson film!

Yeah, it's hard to believe that the Jewish people might be a little sensitive to anti-Semitic statements right now. Why not include Mel's statements in your piece? They are at issue. I'm beginning to see a pattern in your work of not presenting the whole story. Is it laziness or dishonesty?
"At first, they couldn't peer into Mel Gibson's heart, and now they see him through and through."
Yes, because he was drunk and had no filter for his id. At what point did people start considering drunken rants authoritative of split personalities? If people aren't liable for themselves when they are drunk, let's abolish all drunk driving laws because that's not who the person is.
"With this childish rant that goes far beyond the condemnation that was warranted, the ADL have silenced anti-semites all over."
Really? Tell that to the President of Iran.
"Maybe they should save their big guns for those who are calling for a second Holocaust..."
Or maybe those that deny the first even happened, say like Mel Gibson's father. Think he had any input in Mel's worldviews?
"I want to be a victim too."
You are, Red. A victim of ignorance. [CE-would of stupidity been censored?]
"Mel got suckered into a response, he's been accused of being anti-semetic for so long, then a Jew arrests him damaging his career."
Mel was arrested by a cop, but it is nice of you to show your true colors by only identifing him as a Jew, as if Jews are just running around arresting people. And how did this cop sucker him into a response that night? Did the sobriety test involve Global Politics or a discussion about the current hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah?
"it's something else entirely to claim victimhood from the top of the ladder. If Jews can do it why can't other white groups?"
Chrisitians already do. See Culutre War and War on Christmas.

so rather than answer my question you deny it....
39 - IgnatiusReilly
If he makes money off me, it's because I attend his films. I don't go see a film because of an artist's off-screen activities. I went to see Woody Allen's films in the '90s after his life became public and I will continue to see Mel's films regardless of his worldviews because he is a good director.
"you will support his movies no matter how bad they are"
He's not one of my favorites. Munich was all right but way too long and the theme became repetitive. WotW was an absolute mess. Didn't see Terminal or Catch Me. Minority Report was good, but that's because of PKD's story. AI had small flashes of Kubrick's brillance, but was too watered down by Spielberg. Private Ryan was filled with cliches and the story suffered from the focus on the technique of the opening.
Exactly how are you working on issues of future genocide?
Oh, wait, I almost forgot that you do you not practice what you preach. You want false, baseless accusations dealt with, yet refuse to deal with challenges to inaccurate claims you made about Spielberg and Brooks.
Tell you what, regardless of your dishonesty and lack of integrity, if you can provide examples or quotes of my hatred towards anyone, please present. them.

i thought Mel wasn't called an Anti-semite because of his drunk rant or even the Passion of the Christ. I thought it was because he wouldn't say he disgreed with his father who I think said that the Holocaust never happened in a tv interview or something.
I am pretty sure thats a big factor in this and his drunken rant confirmed it for some people.

The biggest irony is that the guy who acted the most Christian in this whole affair is Jewish: the Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy who arrested Gibson. After the arrest, James Mee said that he held no grudge against Gibson and didn't want to see Gibson's career suffer, even though he's the guy in whose face Gibson spewed his invective. Despite that, this Jewish fellow gave Gibson a little lesson--a parable you might say--about Christian forgiveness.
Come to think of it, wasn't there another Jewish guy who talked about the virtues of compassion and love and, especially, tolerance? I'm pretty sure there was. He lived in Palestine in the 1st Century, I think. Maybe someday Gibson could make a movie about him.

In regards to Mel's words to the police officer: what we would call some alcohol-inspired obnoxious prattle, Hezbollah calls a political platform. Actually Mel was quoting some lines from the TV show South Park, but the writers didn't get any credit in the press for being initiators for the quote! For Mel, he should get fifty lashings with a wet noodle.

John,
I see you don't like getting told off. Darn. I don't live in America anymore. So I don't have to censor my tongue anymore, except to avoid personal attacks. And I have none to make against you. None at all.
Put simply, Christianity is an attempt to steal Jewish beliefs, impose them on non-Jews (as well as Jews) and then cut themselves off from the source of the wisdom. The Catholicism of the Vatican is the apotheosis of this Jew-hatred, attempting as we speak today, to steal our land from us.
The Jew-hatred in the Christian book led to the persecution of Jews in Israel, Egypt and elsewhere, resulting in rapes and murders in the thousands and hundreds of thousands in Europe, along with the theft of the equivalent of millions and millions of dollars in money over the centuries. I'm not talking about the Nazis here, an entirely different kettle of fish.
That's on the bill of Christianity, John - whether you like it or not.
Dean,
You are right that the Romans pursued a policy of persecution of Jews in Judea, though one emperor, excoriated by Christian historians as a pagan, relented on the Roman persecution of Jews. MY point is that this persecution was intensified after Christianity got its official status in the Roman Empire under Constantine.
Elsewhere you complained bitterly of Jewish persecution of Christians. Rebel cults usually have a rough time, and Christianity was a rebel cult in the days of Bar Kokhba. In essence they were Jews refusing to join the common cause against the Roman savages.
Elsewhere you mention the Persians attacking the Byzantines, who succeeded the Romans and continued the Christian policy of persecution of Jews. So if Christians died in vengeance, I guess it doesn't bother me that much. Especially when I consider what followed against my people in the centuries to follow.

At #47 & #48.
What you are generally used to is Jews telling you how Israel is a democracy, just like yours, and thanking you endlessly for the "aid" shoved down our throats by your government; and then asking for more. You are accustomed to Jews making arguments using reason and logic to answer hate and venom. You are used to victims taking off their hats and saying "massa, thank you so much, sir, for your kindness..."
It is understandable if Jews living in Canada, the US or elsewhere in Exile do that.
There is a reaonableness to that response built out of the need to survive in a potentially hostile environment where the authorities will, likely as not, be prejudiced against one. So the worship of victimhood is a big part of Judaism in Exile. Many of these Jews worhip the idol of victimhood instead of G-d.
I am not in that situation. So I can speak my mind in honesty and not give a damn what your responses are.
American soldiers died in WWII to defend American interests. American Jews - particularly "reform" Jews - did what they could to prevent America from taking in Jewish refugees. So Christians - and Jews - from your country died defending it - and not us.
There is nothing wrong with American soldiers dying to defend American interests - but don't pretend that those interests included saving Jewish lives. They didn't.
Many Christians died in WWII to defend Jews agoanst the Nazi beast around them. They were decent human beings who raised their humanity above the animalism that was the Nazi religion, and they are honored in Yad Vashem. We do not forget our friends. Raoul Wallenberg is an outstanding example of such a person.
But Christianity sowed the hatred that was used by the Nazis to successfully kill one third of my people. That is on the bill of Christians - particularly the Vatican. Let's be crystal clear on this, so nobody can mistake my words. It was not Christian doctrine to murder off the Jewish people - it was a Nazi doctrine based on purifying the human race. But Christian Jew hatred, sowed over 1,700 years, made this possible. The Christian churches of Europe sowed the seed, and the Nazis harvested it abundantly. If you do not like the truth, too bad. That doesn't change it.
We do not need American aid. The willingness of the Israeli government to accept that aid has crippled our self-defense in many ways, robbing it of the independence it needs to successfully defend this country from its enemies. Were I prime miister here, your aid in all of its forms would be rejected. That would be a huge sacrifice - not because of what Israel might lose from America, but becuse it would finally and forever sever the ties between American Jews and those of Israel. These Jews whould face a choice - and most of them would opt for America.
But the government here acts like a tamed house slave of America forever saying "yes massa." That fact sickens me, but it is the truth.

3."We do not need American aid" this is the most humorous...if the money was cut off today - all types of aid financial and military---you would be on the next flight back to Brooklyn so you could apply for food stamps and welfare...

JOM,
If I hated Christians, I wouldn't bother posting here.
Idiot, you'll get an answer - once. I'll not dirty my soul answering you again.
If I was a miserable coward who ran to America shitting in his pants at the first blast of a bomb like a coward runs out of a bar when the bully farts, I would have fled this country when Arabs started blowing themselves up all over J-lem like fireworks at the end of 2001.
No, I'm not like all those who crapped out on Israel when it looked like the chips were down. I've stuck it out and I'll die here - and the likes of you will not ever get to piss on MY grave.
Now, you fool, for the facts of history instead of your histrionics.
1. Jews got liberated from death camps because their Nazi prison guards had run away and Allied soldiers happened upon the camps. The Allies - the Russians and the Americans - had kicked the shit out of the Germans.
2. Christianity sowed the hatred that led to the murder of my people. That's a fact pal, whether you like it or not. One convert to Judaism told me about how as a girl in Catholic school 56 years ago, the nuns pointed at a picture of Jesus and said the Jews killed him. That was in liberal gliberal San Francisco, USA. These attitudes were far worse in Europe.
3. Dig it, dummy. The word 'judio' - Jew - is a curse in Spanish and its equivalent is a curse in Portuguese. The word 'zhid' - Jew - is a curse in all the Slavic languages. The word 'marrano' used by the Spanish and Portuguese to describe Jews who tried to hide by practicing Catholicism, means 'pig.' All this is the result of centuries of Christian Jew-hatred. Your culture is shot through and through with Jew-hatred.
4. I'm done being a victim of this shit. If I'm faced with it here, I'll shoot to kill. The bastard who dishes it out here does not deserve to live. I DO NOT WORSHIP VICTIMHOOD LIKE JEWS IN EXILE DO. I worship G-d. I DO NOT NEED A HOLOCAUST MUSEUM TO TELL ME HOW MUCH OF MY FAMILY WAS LOST TO THE NAZIS.
You don't like what I have to say? That's just too damned bad. Don't read next time.
56 - John Conlin
Ruvy,
Where to begin? I hope that being in a country at war and under attack has rattled your thinking just a bit; otherwise you are showing yourself to be in the same league as the various racists/wackos who frequent the blog-o-sphere.
In our past discussions you have already admitted to being a religious bigot (I don’t say this in any pejorative manner, just descriptive of your beliefs), but your hatred as expressed in your recent posts is truly sickening. Hatred of Christians, Jews who don’t think like you, I’m assuming you’re none to fond of Arabs and Muslims… this is Gods will? A God that around 3.8 billion years ago created the first spark of life on this planet, flowing steadily to today, and to us. You are paying homage to this God with your hate? Yes I know, you’ll say you don’t hate, just stating the Truth. That’s what the KKK, Islamofacists, Nazis, etc. all say too.
Christianity didn’t do anything a thousand years ago. Christianity is an abstraction (and is Judaism, etc.). Whatever heinous acts you think were committed were done by INDIVIDUALS. Individuals who are long dead and gone. Do you know any way to change the past? If so, please inform us. Or is it your thinking that past actions by individuals should never be forgotten or forgiven. That we should fight and kill over events that happened long ago. How this changes the past or “makes up for it” is beyond me. I would wager you hope your wife doesn’t have this same thinking in your marriage, since few of us go through life without the occasional stumble.
How can you claim to be on a true search for God while holding these repugnant views?
57 - RedTard
Ruvy, that's an interesting point about the christians. I was raised part of a protestant church and I can assure you that there were no anti-semetic themes in out little sliver of the faith. Jews were highly regarded and we spent alot of time studying David, Abraham, etc.
I suppose some could and have taken the death of christ to an extreme and blamed the Jews personally. In our studies it was sort of pre-ordained like God hardening pharoah's heart in egypt.
58 - Ruvy in Jerusalem
I don't hate Christians, John. Generally, I have no use for organized Christianity, particularly, most particularly, the Vatican. For all that, I have to admit that when I was down and out and living on the street in the Midwest a quarter century ago, it was a black Baptist Church in Minneapolis that gave me a place to live, along with a Catholic organization in St. Paul. Jews wanted nothing to do with me.
I was reading this (the comments before yours) to my wife, and she commented that I sound like I hate Christians. My father, z"l, taught me that a word once uttered cannot be recalled; but I can try to tone down what I write a bit in future. What I've written is written, and it will have to stand. Until an EMP wipes out all the records, it will be there for all to read.
So, "if you read Ruvy's comments with a slur...they sound very similar to Mel (Gibson')s words at least in tone..."
The big difference is that I am sober and stand by what I've said. I've spoken honestly what I feel and whatever stress, anger or upsetment I may feel because we are at war does not change any of that or stand - for those seeking to excuse my words - as an excuse.
I'm not aware of any mehods of changing the past, other than what I've read in science fiction novels and novellas. It is my general belief that if we try to change the past, we'll only screw up the present even more.
And I believe in moving on. There is no use in harping on what the Nazis did 60 years ago, just as there is no use in harping on what the Catholic church did before that. And a peace with the Arabs will of necessity involve moving on from the massacres in Hebron, Damascus and Baghdad and Morocco. And they will have to learn in similar fashion to leave the Naqba and Deir Yassin in their past.
But I do not believe in forgetting. I remember the black train engineer who volunteered his time to stay with a dozen or so homeless people in Mpls. I was not meant to set up an institute for homeless people in Minneapolis, something I discussed with him several nights in a row. G-d has led me home instead.
With respect to the Vatican, they are still involved in trying to steal our land, though they say nothing about hating Jews and today their clergy will not be heard to say, as did Bishop Kmetko to Rabbi Michael ber Weissmandl in Slovakia in 1943 "there is no innocent Jewish blood." (see The Truth of the Bible Code, Dr. Jeffrey Satinover).
It is one thing to move on. It is another to not learn the lessons of the past. And one of those lessons is that the teachings of Christianity to individuals caused them to rape and kill Jews and steal all their possessions. If that puts me in "in the same league as the various racists/wackos who frequent the blog-o-sphere" then so be it.
59 - Ruvy in Jerusalem
Red Tard,
You show the difference between a Catholic and a Bible reading Protestant. Your little slice of the Christian world is one we can talk with, even though we have doctrinal differences.
60 - Martin Lav
My doctrine believes in making amends when we've done something wrong. You come close Ruvy, but then you go back to your slanderous ways. The true difference between you and Mel (Gibson not Brooks) is that he has apologized and he has said he wants to "amend" what he said and what he's done. You sort of apologize for your harsh words, yet will not amend them meaning "to change" them in the future. So you half-ass yourself and claim you can forgive, but not forget. There was a Jew who taught to "resist all evil" and he meant that in thought more than against other people, it means to not be ruled by your thinking otherwise you are held capitive in your own negative thoughts. Peace of mind is the true heaven. It's too bad that you associate this Jew and his teachings with a group of people that want to harm you and take over your homeland. The sufferer is you.
61 - Dean
The phrase objected to most in Gibson’s movie, “the Passion” is most likely what led to “hating Jews” over the years, and Gibson agreed to remove it.
“All the people answered, "Let his blood be on us and on our children!"
-- Matthew 27:25
You may not like what Matthew recorded here but that will not change it.
No Christian I know believes that each Jew today is responsible for killing Jesus. But from the point of view of a prophecy it appears to be the way it turned out.
The past is over, it is dead. Those who live in the past are dead men walking. All we have is the present and the ability to stop continuing to hate in the future.
As far as Hitler and WWII are concerned, Jews lived in Europe for centuries before the Nazis came on the scene. There were reasons for Hitler’s hatred of not only Jews, but other groups he wanted to “eliminate”. Eventually he would have included all with religious beliefs. If he had not been stopped, it was only a matter of time before people of all religions were wiped out.
Hitler had blamed Jews for WWI and the humiliating German surrender at Versailles. Some of his hatred of other groups was based on his idea that “Aryans” were a superior race.
His “Aryan” notions are puzzling considering he was not blue-eyed or blond.
Maybe that’s why he lost.

Ruvy " The Christian Hater" - you prove the point I made earlier....you are part of a cult that is made up of "professional victims" biting off the hand that saved your sorry ass (either directly or indirectly) and feeds you and your family to this day..
This association of professional victims continues to use histrical events to justify their cult status...
In addition this line is pretty funny...
"No, I'm not like all those who crapped out on Israel when it looked like the chips were down. I've stuck it out and I'll die here - and the likes of you will not ever get to piss on MY grave."
You act pretty brave for a man who hides behind the US Military infrastructure that we have build and subsidize for Israel...like a little boy hiding behind his fathers legs as he taunts the neighborhood bully! Again the US is baling out your pathetic ass...but again you play the role of the courageous victim....
PS Where is the Association Of Professional Victims convention this year -- Miami Beach or Orlando...I am sure you will be there...probably giving the keynote speech!

Dean,
Go check out Dave Nalle's article on Lebanon. The last comment there - the really long one - has plenty of news.
Finally, the deal on the Nazis was that they were a religious philosophy first, and the political consequences were the program outlined in Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler. That wasn't what the six socialists who formed the German National Worker's Party and who fell under Hitler's spell intended, but that's how it wound up.
That religious philosophy took advantage of the hatred of Jews that Christianity had sown for its own ends, but its own program was the murder of Jews because they contaminated the human race, and then the destruction of its "Jewish spawn", Christianity.
66 - Dave Nalle
You may not like what Matthew recorded here but that will not change it.
Just for the sake of accuracy, I have to point out that Matthew didn't 'record' anything. He was writing 200 years after the fact and basically embellishing oral history.
