Detainees Beat Guards in Koran Kicking Competition

From John Bambenek at Ravings of John C. A. Bambenek:

Michelle Malkin brings you the parts of the investigation at Gitmo the MSM won't report. That apparently of the 5 corroborated mishandling reports by guards of the Koran, there are 15 different reports of detainees themselves mishandling the Korans including the infamous Koran flushing incident (repeat: that was by a detainee not a guard).

In continuing the volume of agitprop in support of Al Qaeda, those details won't make it out because that would undermine the ACLU and Amnesty International's calls for a Special Prosecutor to ultimately impeach George Bush for thought crimes. Even John Kerry wants to reverse his startling loss by impeachment. Remember when the Left harps about "divisiveness" that they are the ones that brought it by supporting the enemies of our country and those who would kill our civilians.

Don't let facts get in the way of sensationalism.

The Malkin link doesn't work, but then neither does that second sentence. Maybe "in addition to" instead of "of" otherwise it sounds like the 15 detainees mishandlings are part of the 5 guard mishandlings, which makes no sense mathematically.

And far be it from me to get in the way of anyone's ravings with the facts, but if Bush was impeached it would not "reverse [Kerry's] startling lose(sp)." Cheney would become President.

Wait a minute, I went to Malkin's site and the info that appeared in the AP report is linked from her site to the Wash Post, USA Today and she shows that CNN.com listed the headline the way she wanted. Do they not count as MSM?

Malkin complains that the media buried the detainees Koran abuse, but the news reports follow the order of the Pentagon report. Why does she not complain that the Pentagon buried the info?

John, think about it, and then tell me the truth about this line from your rant. I pick #4.

"Remember when the Left harps about "divisiveness" that they are the ones that brought it by supporting the enemies of our country and those who would kill our civilians."

    This statement is:

    1) Poorly written?
    2) Right wing propaganda?
    3) Total Bullshit?
    4) All of the above?

RE comment 3: "Don't let facts get in the way of sensationalism."

So you're saying, John, that there's an equivelancy here between prisoners and the military at Gitmo? That's extremely anti-military of you.

re: Bambi-neck's semi-literate, but appropriately named "ravings" -- the headline has got to be the worst in Blogcritics history. (I knew this dude would set a new indoor record -- although today alone, there is some extremely stiff competition!)

PS: Bambi-neck, don't you have a meeting to attend?

With headlines (and posts?) like these, Google News is going to treat the whole of Blogcritics like it does our Satire ghetto once again.

Aaman--agreed. Are there any standards for becoming a Blogcritic? Basic fucking English skills for starters? I'm all for inclusion, but Christ, this is ridiculous.

I guess Eric has to follow guidelines set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Shit.

Apparently there are the same standard for comments... no content and all flame. Thanks for proving that basically there are no intelligent comments here at blogcritics.

I'm not saying I can't take it, I'm saying that basically you guys have nothing intelligent to say. Your grammar suggestions have been taken into account and the post has been corrected.

Well next time I'll remember that only left wing inflammatory posts are welcomed by you digital brownshirts.

Left wing posts get flamed here too, Mr. Thin Skin.

It might help if the original post were a bit longer and perhaps somewhat humorous. If it actually were satire, then you can get away with a goofy or inflamatory headline.

Hello.. I see this all the time. Yes the story is poorly written, but instead of discussing the issue of prisoner abuse of the Koran all everyone can do is avoid it by bashing grammar. Why would a muslim desecrate their Koran. Is there any truth to the Koran soccer match. Then there is that little thing adout muslims held up in the church of the nativity using bible pages for toilet paper. When polititions not in power, (currently the left), bash our govt. and harp on stories that hurt our national interest do they think that when they are in power that the world will just forget all the bad that happened on the previous watch. Hurting your own country for your own political gain is like sawing off the branch your standing on to keep your counterpart from standing on it.

Regardless as to the veracity of the claim that Kerry wants to reverse his loss by impeaching Bush, I have to say he's been a big baby about it and can't seem to let it go...so maybe this big hoopla will make the 50-something year old feel better about his tantrums.

As far as how well-written the piece is, I think John did a very good job. The fact that all leftists can do about is complain, that's all they EVER do is complain. They have no ideas behind the rhetoric, it's just Bush lied, men died, no blood for oil, Bushitler, Rovian conspiracy, blah, blah, blah.

It's a little tiring, especially since you'd think that a "critic" would be something more than an Al Franken but that's just me.

I think you did a great job, John and I'm going to pass the word. These "critics" are nothing more than little children banging their spoons on their high chairs. They're either teething or it's time for nap.

If you read a little closer - there was a question by El Bicho that has been avoided. A question that went directly to the point John tried to make about "the media" ignoring it.

Ok, well the AP article headline itself is "Pentagon confirms U.S. soldier kicked Koran at prison", the paragraph that points out prisoners were by far the more flagrant abusers of Koran's by 3 times is the 6th to last paragraph, 5 mere sentences. You would think that they might make a bigger deal of the fact that say, the Koran flushing incident was done by a detainee, not a guard. The WaPo article looks to be the same AP article. So they briefly mention it, then start panting abuot the guards. So fine "news the MSM won't report" is somewhat misleading, but they sure are trying to overlook as much as possible.

With a name like "El Bicho" and the very low signal-to-noise ratio, I don't read many comments. People may look at that as an avoidance, but when I check email and see 20 comments, mostly of the flame variety, I tend to ignore all.

I went back and read El Bicho's question. I took it as rhetorical. He's accusing Michelle Malkin of partisanship, not asking an actual question.

As for the coverage in the mainstream media, it seems very much proportional to the importance of the subject. Initially they covered the reported abuse fairly lightly and then sort of lost interest by the time the details came out.

It has the facts correct. The left is too lazy to read the report.
John, your post is correct, but the blame bush crowd has to find something bitch about.
