My kids came in the booth with me last year. I'm assuming they'll be in the booth with me again tomorrow.
This morning, my daughter said, "I'm going to vote for George Bush." Then I told her she'd have to wait 12 more years.

I don't support 'strong-arming', but you've given no link and I haven't heard the story beyond what you've mentioned, so I don't know if some old lady was really strong armed or if it is just a colorful description of saying "I'm sorry Ma'am, you can't go in there together". I might not have supported how they did it, but I do support the principle of one person in the booth.
I also realize the daughter was probably not going to be coercive to the mother, and certainly bhw's children won't intimidate her, so I can understand a lot of time the intent is from innocence, but I just feel that when you are alone in the booth and no one is around, that is the one time you can truly speak powerfully and most importantly freely. Just my opinion.
So much talk about temporary voting sites moved or closed, alleged steering or efforts to interfere all over the 'Net. Well, I haven't experienced any of that when voting in years. Much of the potential for trouble is eliminated if people -- vote by mail. Read about voting in Oregon here.
