No offense taken, Cindy. I was just trying to explain that I've always been very cautious with my money, and refrain as much as possible from buying things on credit, a practice that has stood me in good stead for years, and one which I'd like to see more young people who have not yet accumulated debt, adopt.
Once one is in debt, it's difficult to impossible to get out of it.
And I absolutely agree with you about the need for usury laws. We used to have them years ago.

I regularly charge an average of $3K a month on one credit card.
I use this credit card to get air miles.
I don’t charge anything without paying for it at the end of each month.
The usurious crooks would be out of business if it was left to me.

That is a good practice whodunnit. I used to do that, but my most used airline is Continental which is a Chase Bank card, so having discovered what I have about Chase, I canceled it.

BTW, I personally switched to a bank in VA because they have usury rates of 12%. The key is to find out what the usury rate is in the state and then select a bank that is not a national bank. As these are not regulated by state law--so the sky's the limit.

Oh, one more bit of advice. Don't take out student loans.
If you can't already afford cash for the education to get a better job...just be satisfied with what you get from Walmart or driving a bus or whatever it is you people do.

Wait, if you're rich you can ignore my last bit of advice, because the government will bail you out.
