Wright out of left field?
Wright, who claims to have been inspired by JFK’s inaugural speech, now seeks personal gain in mocking his very words.
JEREMIAH WRIGHT: Only black children 50 years ago were singled out as speaking bad English. In the 1961, it's been all over the internet now. John Kennedy could stand at the inauguration and say [attempting to imitate JFK's Boston accent]: "ask not what your country can do for you. Ask rather what you can do for your country." How do you spell "ask"? [which Wright pronounced "esk" in supposed imitation of JFK].
Then Wright waxes poetic as any politician's worst political nightmare with these words:
I'm not here for political reasons...I am not a politician. I know that fact will surprise many of you because many in the corporate-owned media have made it seem as if I had announced that I'm running for the Oval Office. I am not running for the Oval Office. I've been running for Jesus a long, long time, and I'm not tired yet.
Huh? Wright may be running for Jesus, not running for office, could have fooled me. But now Barack can run from Wright with both feet and denounce him with teeth. I don’t think that anyone will blame the Obamas from in fact leaving that church on the south side of Chicago. There are simply too many other churches out there that would welcome Obama and his family with open arms. Do like I do--go to an all-white church. This is why I have left one church after the other, the pastors and their egos have run me away.
If he was fighting for his legacy, then Wright was going about it the wrong way. His interview with Bill Moyers, address to the NAACP and the National Press Club were understandable but extremely ill-timed, unnecessary, and over the top.
And that brings me finally to the really good news and advice to Obama: Reject, denounce and break away from your former church and his former pastor.

It's a shame the man is intent on derailing Obama. The Senator is a gifted orator and a class act all the way. Pity, that it will be his own pastor that will ruin his chances.

I agree with Pablo here. But for my money, Obama is the far better deal. An open Jew-hater like him, surrounded by Jew-haters, will make clear to "Yossi Yisraeli", the Israeli version of Joe Sixpack, that the bought out corporate shills running the place for the American oil and banking establishment, Peres, Olmert and Barak, all belong on butcher hooks, treif as they are.
So, Heloise, how does it feel to see the Judas' kiss crucifying your new Jesus? The only question is, how much money the Clinton campaign needed to make up the "thirty pieces of silver" to buy out Reverend Wrong?

As long as idiots keep beating the drums on this foolish non-issue they take the risk of creating a backlash of Obama-sympathy. it's a long time until the dems decide a nomination, and even longer until the election, so there is plenty of time to turn this around.
In the meantime we are all deprived of REAL news about REAL issues.
Frankly, I'd rather that Obama opponents drill him on his policies and plans. I've been frustrated trying to fathom what they really are by reading his ambiguous position papers, etc.
For example on Healthcare I have a pretty good idea of where McCain stands and even Hillary, but I be damned if I can figure out Obamas specifics.
And I'm not going to find out ANYTHING from the pundits, apparently. Sunday morning I gave up in disgust as all the interviewers and pundits could talk about was that nutcase Jeremiah Something.

That is the whole idea, madame. You are supposed to be deprived or real news and real issues so the idiots can play with your mind, or in the alternative, drive you from the polls altogether. It's called "dumbing down the electorate".
The real news is to be found (or rather not found) in the cereal and grains aisle in your grocery store....

I believe in righteous indignation but Wright is it not wrong and dangerous to bring your political anger and upheaval into the pulpit. People do need to be lifted up and encouraged and spoken the truth to; and Jesus was very radical but we see him speaking soundly and boldly in love. Do not we as Christians want to imitate people who imitate Christ.

It won't. By fall the short attention span of voters will insure a big yawn at the mention of Jeremiah Whatsis.
The dust, confusion and distraction, however, may insure that us voters do not learn the nature of Obamas policies, which is very dangerous.
