If Rev. Wright doesn’t shut the fuck up there will be a dark night of the poll. Senator Obama will lose whatever lead he holds in both Indiana and North Carolina. He could lose the nomination. Wright is not helping the country, the Democratic Party, Obama, black and white people by spouting his brand of history of black Americans in America. I don’t know what he has been reading, drinking or smoking but I don’t want any part of it and I’m black. Imagine what whites must think of Wright’s polemics. Wright said America be damned; well, Heloise says, "Wright, dam it up!"
Wright is taking his show on the road
He should have steered clear of (1) expressing political opinions on the pulpit, (2) exempting the black church from all criticism and (3) attempting to inculcate America in the ways of blackness. Instead of invigorating people, this boring black self-promoting pastor is putting white and black Americans to sleep. His fifteen minutes of fame are wearing thin and his mocking of former presidents and blaming the government for creating everything from the AIDS virus to killing Christ are not playing well down on the farm.
What motivates this man? Is he seeking the media spotlight out of jealousy of the huge crowds that Obama draws just by showing up?
He is no linguist or anthropologist, but that does not keep him from pontificating on those subjects. He is obviously an educated man who has overstepped his role as a pastor and Christian. The bad news is that he can’t seem to muzzle himself and any observer has to ask simply, why?
Okay we get it. Blacks are physical and emote when the spirit seizes hold. Blacks hold no patent on spirituality, and black churches are not the end of the rainbow. Wright has had his say. But he has stepped on a lot of toes and boundaries both political and religious.
He mocked JFK in Detroit when he spoke to the NAACP. No one laughed. White supremacy groups are already using this sound bite. What place does pronunciation of the English language in one part of the country versus another region have to do with his ministry or the black church? He did get a chuckle when he mocked President Johnson. This has turned into a minstrel show--sound bites and all.

It's a shame the man is intent on derailing Obama. The Senator is a gifted orator and a class act all the way. Pity, that it will be his own pastor that will ruin his chances.

I agree with Pablo here. But for my money, Obama is the far better deal. An open Jew-hater like him, surrounded by Jew-haters, will make clear to "Yossi Yisraeli", the Israeli version of Joe Sixpack, that the bought out corporate shills running the place for the American oil and banking establishment, Peres, Olmert and Barak, all belong on butcher hooks, treif as they are.
So, Heloise, how does it feel to see the Judas' kiss crucifying your new Jesus? The only question is, how much money the Clinton campaign needed to make up the "thirty pieces of silver" to buy out Reverend Wrong?

I'm not sure Wright is actually hurting Obama any longer. His recent behavior has been so bizarre that no one is taking him seriously.

As long as idiots keep beating the drums on this foolish non-issue they take the risk of creating a backlash of Obama-sympathy. it's a long time until the dems decide a nomination, and even longer until the election, so there is plenty of time to turn this around.
In the meantime we are all deprived of REAL news about REAL issues.
Frankly, I'd rather that Obama opponents drill him on his policies and plans. I've been frustrated trying to fathom what they really are by reading his ambiguous position papers, etc.
For example on Healthcare I have a pretty good idea of where McCain stands and even Hillary, but I be damned if I can figure out Obamas specifics.
And I'm not going to find out ANYTHING from the pundits, apparently. Sunday morning I gave up in disgust as all the interviewers and pundits could talk about was that nutcase Jeremiah Something.

That is the whole idea, madame. You are supposed to be deprived or real news and real issues so the idiots can play with your mind, or in the alternative, drive you from the polls altogether. It's called "dumbing down the electorate".
The real news is to be found (or rather not found) in the cereal and grains aisle in your grocery store....

Anything that keeps Obama out of the White House is fine by me.

I believe in righteous indignation but Wright is it not wrong and dangerous to bring your political anger and upheaval into the pulpit. People do need to be lifted up and encouraged and spoken the truth to; and Jesus was very radical but we see him speaking soundly and boldly in love. Do not we as Christians want to imitate people who imitate Christ.

Further illustrating the depth of Archies shallowness:
"Anything that keeps Obama out of the White House is fine by me."
It won't. By fall the short attention span of voters will insure a big yawn at the mention of Jeremiah Whatsis.
The dust, confusion and distraction, however, may insure that us voters do not learn the nature of Obamas policies, which is very dangerous.
