Why do they refuse to air it? Too explicit?

Yeah. And it is - damn explicit. It's a one-minute PSA showing a group of American girls playing soccer, being cheered on by their parents, and then being blown up by a land mine. The tag line is kind of clunky but the imagery is heartrending. I can definitely see networks refusing to air it, at least during hours when children are viewing in large numbers.

The PSA aired Tuesday night on CBC Newsworld, the all news network run by Canada's national public broadcaster. The CBC.ca servers can probably handle a great deal of traffic, so if the above URLs are down, check out the clip later today when they update the site -- www.cbc.ca/thehour
